Geez! It is hard to blog with two kiddos! I have about 4-5 drafts with lots of pictures, but can't find the time to add the words.
I wanted to write the story of Lillian's birth before I forgot.
It all started on Tuesday, October 15th when I went for my 38 week checkup. My sweet OB knew I was miserable and asked if I wanted her to "strip my membranes." Yes, this feels as awful as it sounds. But I was ready for Lil, so I screamed YES! At that time, I was 3-4 cm and about 50% effaced. So I went home to do all the things that you do to get the baby out....including dragging Hudson in a wagon for a whole mile....briskly paced, too!
Fast forward to about 10:00 pm when I started to feel what were random contractions. By 12:30, they were every 10 minutes. I woke Joey up about 1:00 am and told him I think we needed to head to UMC. His words, "I think you are just excited, you need to be real sure..." To be honest, I wasn't real sure, but I knew that my contractions were starting to kinda hurt. To me, it was time.
We got hooked up to the monitor and they watched me for about an hour before they decided I was indeed in labor. Yippeee! And booya-in-yo-face to Joey.
By 5:00 am, I was in the room, getting my epidural and contractions were getting serious. When the nurse checked me, I was still about 4 cm. They started and stopped to Pitocin because Lillian's heartrate was being erratic with that stuff. The original plan was for her to come around lunch or soon after...that's what they predicted. But when my OB came in and broke my water, and I jumped from 5 cm to 9.5 cm in about 30 minutes... it was on!
So this is where is gets funny. Of course, Joey was going to be in the room. But my mom was in the room with Hudson, and I wanted her there with Lillian. But she had to drop Hudson off at MMO at 8:45. At 8:50, I was at 9.5 cm and my OB said your mom needs to get here.
Momma walked ran in at 9:05 and they were putting me in the stirrups. Basically, the sweet nurse was holding her head in and telling me not to push so my OB (and mom) could make it.
of course I had to get glammed up as much as possible before labor
Kiki would have died if she missed this!
And at 9:16 and 3-4 pushes later, she was here! And perfect!!
Funny story about when I was pushing (and maybe TMI). But when the nurse saw her head, she exclaimed, "I think this baby is going to be big! She's got a big head!" Note to self nurse, please don't ever tell a woman who is in labor (and pushing out a baby from somewhere that a baby shouldn't really logistically come out of) that she is going to be big and has a big head. Just keep it to your self.
She was tiny and perfect at 6 lbs 7 oz.
Our angel baby was finally here! And hungry, by the looks of this picture!
Love my husband!
The whole crew: Bubba, Joey, me, Lillian, Papa Frank (who refuses to look at the camera) and Kiki.
The only person missing was our sweet Hudson
Proud grandparents!
And Bubba! He couldn't come to the hospital with Hudson because he had strep throat. So this time, he was determined to be there!
This concludes part one of our hospital stay. Sorry if you don't care for part two, its coming anyways! I use this blog as my baby book!

YAY... I have been patiently waiting on this!!! Cannot wait for holiday matching smocked and all the cuteness I know you have to come! Love reading this and your precious little family... you are blessed!
