Thoughts for Tuesday: Merry Christmas Style (a day late)

Well, you've already seen my CT1 and CT2 (see previous post), so I thought I'd share some small MSU themed Christmas decorations. Most of them purchased by Trish. Thanks Mom! Now if you can just teach me to make bows, pasta, chicken and dumplings, and every other amazing dish you make; we'll be set.

MSU bowl plate and Bully ornament
"The dawgs were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of bowl games danced in their heads"

Santa "Go State" and round ornament

MSU nutcracker.
Even the dawgs need to crack a nut from time to time

Next, this is not MSU related, but its some cinnamon honey butter I made as party favors for a dinner party.
mason jars from walmart, scratch holiday fabric, and tags found online

And lastly, my precious pups. You don't have to tell me that they are the cutest things ever...because I already know!

My first born, who turned 6 this Decemeber. Really Guss, you are 6? Where did the time go? I hope you think I'm a good mom.

And my sweet big girl, Riley Lindley. This is her right after a bath and she didn't love me that much. You know, for a big dog, she is a big baby. This one is scared of the hair dryer. No lie! She will literally run the other direction if you even point it her way.
She says, "call DHS, this is absurd!"

Merry Christmas!
Love, The Lindleys

Get your popcorn ready

2 movies I am really into right now...

500 Days of Summer
Could this movie get any better? I do have a love for indie movies, and this is one of my favorites. Can I just say I have a not-so-baby crush on Joseph Gordon-Levett. Remember that little ponytail boy from '3rd Rock from the Sun'? Yeah, he grew up and he's a cutsie! (He is also in Inception). If you haven't seen it, call Netflix immediately!

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Of course, this one is a no brainer. Eclipse came out on DVD on December 4th, and I bought it that day. But, I have only watched it once since. Boo! I guess that's the holidays for you. But this movie is my favorite of the 3 movies. Edward is my secret vampire boyfriend.

So I plan on indulging in both of these movies on Sunday...and sweet Josie will just have to get over it :)

Christmas party- Phi Mu style

Last weekend, Christmas party #3 was with the Phi Mus in Hattiesburg. Pippa was so gracious to have the party at her beautiful home. We had a blast exchanging gifts and dancing at the classiest bar in Hattiesburg. We may or may not have been kicked off the dance floor during the line dancing. They take it pretty serious down there! And we may or may not have gotten in at 2:30. And eaten a pizza on the way home. Anyways, it was such a fun night, and so wonderful to hang out with all my Phi Mu ladies.

Our Group shot. Aren't we cute?
Me, James, and Becky

Me and my fabulous Peters pottery. Thanks Ally!

Pip, Jennifer, and me

Ok, you know I love a solo shot. And I love a bow. Best of both worlds in this picture!

Me and Jamie had our usual photoshoot...this is just one of the 50. Why is my mouth always open?

Me and Lindsey had a shoot on the way home...we look totally sober, don't we?

Not sure...

It was such a fun and tiring weekend! I will post later about parties #1 and 2.
You better check yourself, before you wreck yourself.

legend lost

December 8th was the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death. 30 years! I was not alive when he died, and I definitely was not alive when the Beatles were in their glory days. But his music (and the Beatles music) has influenced all music ever since. And that is the bottom line. I have every Beatles song ever made on my ipod. every.single.song. So listen to one of his (or Beatles) songs in his honor this weekend. All you need is love.

Have a great weekend. I am heading to Christmas party #3 tonight.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! (or day!)

Ps, look at those pups! Aren't they fabulous? And so photogenic? They could be supermodels.

Getting into the Spirit

(you might have to click on it to get the full effect)

Please watch this! It is amazing. And for some reason, when I saw this, I started crying. Couldn't stop myself. Rolling tears. Really gets me in the Christmas spirit.

Happy Friday! We're heading to Starkville this weekend for Whitney's wedding and Phi Mu reunion. Pretty pumped about it.

I'm late!

So November 21st was a big day... It was Jamie's big birthday. I am so so late!! And I could write for days about how close we are and all of our inside jokes, but I will spare you. Instead, we will take a look back at our pictorial friendship. We were BFF starting freshman year of college, but I can't find any of those pictures, so this slide show starts about mid-senior year. Fun times!

Love you James! I'm glad you're my best friend.
And a one-upper. And I'm glad we got you some numbers this year.
Let's be BFF forever.

Most wonderful time of the year!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, How lovely are your branches?
Well, my branches say they are quite lovely. Golden loveliness! Meet Christmas Tree No. 1 (CT1, for short).
She's pretty and pretty big. Love her!

Meet Christmas Tree No. 2 (CT2). She is more slender with a fun red and green theme. She is new to our family this year and I think she is fitting in wonderfully!

And here is the topper to that slim sensation. She has a peppermint theme. Love it!

Lastly, Big Girl (Riley Lindley) is excited about CT1 and CT2. She even knows that abbreviations. How smart is she? And the cuteness factor is OOC.

Loves it x 4. Have a good day.

Thoughts for Tuesday: Egg Bowl style

I have many thoughts for today, but I will just leave you with a few.

1. How 'bout them bulldawgs?? So happy for an Egg Bowl win!! And I love the picture above, even though we got in trouble for celebrating.

2. Christmas is so close! And I have a mission to be done shopping in 1.5 weeks. Can I do it?

3. Joey hasn't been on this little blog in awhile. That boy hates to have his picture taken...but have no fear, he is still as cute as ever. And he will make a comeback soon!

4. Still need to do a NYC post. That is coming this weekend.

5. I am blessed beyond compare to have the family and friends that I do. How did I get so lucky?

6. Decemeber is like a wedding/Christmas party/shower marathon. Not a sprint, but a full marathon through the end of the month. And it doesn't help when you have a husband that is trying to sneak off to the woods ever chance he gets. 123 go!

That is all for today. Hope you are all well and didn't get blown away last night!

HELP!

Calling all bloggers...I need help! (or opinions, really). I am looking for a camera. Now not a fancy camera like my fabulous phi mu photographer. But a fancy-ish camera. Better than a point-and-shoot, like I already have. I don't want to be a photographer, and I don't want to lug around a bunch of equipment. But I do want to take some pretty pictures of my pups.. and Josie...and future, little bambinos. I am even almost signed up for a photography class (beginner) with this fabulous momma at our local community college.

So this is where your opinion counts...what camera to get.

This is the camera I am thinking about.

The Canon SX30
(the back and front of the camera)

Reasons why I like her (bc she really is a her):
1. She can be put in auto (point and shoot)
2. She has 14.1 megapixels and big zoom
3. She has manual capabilities that allow you to have that fancy camera-like options.
4. She is not a fancy camera (DSLR) with the attachable lens and such...that is too much for me at this time
5. She is not 123,43456,998.00 bones
6. She has good reviews.

The guy at the store said she was in the middle of the whole "camera experience" Now, I'm not sure what a "camera experience" is, but the middle sounds prettty good to me.

Do any of you out there want the same "camera experience"? If so, please tell me what you like. Because with a purchase like this, I like to do my research. This is when it counts, people! I don't ask much of you (well not ALL the time), but I would love your input. Don't make me call you out, because I will! ha!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

i am excited about this!

I have used shutterfly several times, and it is a great and easy way to store your photos and make custom designs. I have also used their cards in the past, and they are fabulouso!!

Jealous? Don't be!! Get in on all this free christmas goodness yourself!

Have a great weekend! Stay tuned next month, and you can see which shutterfly card we chose!

OOC

My husband says I am out of control (OOC). And, if you know me, you wouldn't use that lingo to describe me? right? And what am I so OOC about?

Well, if you must know....its CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. Who's excited about them?

I am!!

i.love.them.

And one month is just not enough to enjoy all the goodness that is christmas decorations. So this year, I informed Josie that we will be bending the after-thanksgiving rules...as in, we are starting the process a WEEKish early. Yeh us! And then Josie informed me that is opening weekend of gun season. Who cares about those stupid deers when there are important things like christmas decorations to worry about? And Trish (my mom) has also informed me that she can not help me slave over my house like she did last year. Really Trish, you too?  So this might be a solo mission, people. Have no fear, bc I just purchased our 2nd tree, and I am on a mission. A Christmas mission, if you will. So just know, if you come to my house in the next two weeks, you may or may not see a wreath or a twinkle of lights or a blow-up snow globe in the front yard. Ha! Kinda kidding about the globe.

When is too early to start this process? Do you agree with Joey? Am I OOC?

And, I still have to post about NYC and New Orleans. I guess I am OOC and lazy!
Have a great week!

Thoughts for Tuesday: letter style

Hello there. Back from New Orleans for the Saints game. I am a worldly traveler these days. Or should I say statesly traveler. Anyways, today thoughts are in a form of a letter. And you know I love to write a letter to random things.

Dear Christmas card,
You stress me out exponentally! Last year, I had a great one of you.  Exhibit A (really the only exhibit). Look at that sweet Josie. And the quality of that photo. we.are.cute.

This year, I opted against getting a professional photographer, like I did last year, to capture our Christmas-like spirit. If you could see our house Christmas card, you would say, "well that house has Kristin and Joey thrown up all over it." And you would say it exactly like that. And we don't need anymore professional photos in our house. (that is, until the plus one comes...) So I just decided to get a friend (cough, Jamie) to snap a quick photo. I am not worried about your design, Christmas card, but more of the picture. You see, Joey wants to put the dogs in the picture. I love my doggies, but sometimes they do not want to cooperate with the Christmas-like spirit we are trying to embrace. So we are hoping we can snap a quick photo for you this weekend, and I can get you in the mail on December 1st. The early bird gets the Christmas card worm, you know. So, to you Christmas card, be good to us this year. We will not forsake you next year.

Love,
Joey and Kristin

PS:  incase Jamie can't this weekend, does anyone want to volunteer to snap a quick photo with their flashy camera? I will come to you. And bring you a present. Thanks!

Thoughts for Tuesday

No thoughts again today. Just got back from a fabulouso trip to New York. We had a great time and lots of shopping was done! Hint hint: think designer bags, shoes, and forever21. But for now, I am exhausted and need to cuddle with Josie. More to come later! Lovesies.

Thoughts for Tuesday

Hello there! Short thoughts for today.

1. I am heading to NYC tomorrow and so so excited!!

2. Josie's birthday is on Saturday, and yes, I am missing it. But have no fear, I have strategically hidden presents around the house and he will have a scavenger hunt for them. Fun, right? We have been celebrating his pre-birthday for a week now...Happy Birthday Joey bear. I love you to the moon and back.

I will leave you for the week with some pictures....

This is my cute, single brother Brett. He killed this bambi with his bow and arrow.
Yeh for deer meat!

Alyssa at the fair with her Pronto Pup.

My friend Lindsey at her baby shower...
She is a cute preggie! And we can't wait for Levi's arrival in December

I got to assist with Adda Laine's bath on Friday night. Look at that little monkey...I could just love on her for hours. (and I do, sometimes, when Tara let's me)

Lastly, SARAH FOSTER, it's your birthday today! Hope you have a great one and hope you're excited about your Forever21 stuff from NYC. and getting old. Ha!

This is Sarah (Tonneey) with her pineapple whip from the fair.
Yum!

(Sorry the pictures are so small...couldn't figure that one out.)

Thoughts for Tuesday

Not too many thoughts right now...just trying to make it through the work week. This gal also worked the weekend, so I am mucho exhausted already!

Just a few shout-outs to some people in my life:

Johna: thanks for reading my blog and never commenting (ha! busted.)

That's all for now, more shout-outs next week.
Holla!

"back up off"

I have been trying to write this post for 5 days now. 5 DAYS...that is how busy my work week has been. Lots of people need to be out of bed at "great hospital." And one of my patients told me to "back up off" yesterday...what does that even mean?

So with the crazy week somewhat behind me, I need your assistance with 2 things:

1. I am going to New York in 2 weeks and want to know the fun things to do.
Don't tell me the statue of liberty, central park, ya ya ya....I've got all that. I want the fun, and semi-touristy stuff...and of course, the shopping. I need it all! I fully plan on assaulting H&M and the Forever21 on Broadway. Any other great locations that I NEED to see?

2. What shoes to wear? And this question can go for here in MS or in NYC. Here, we are in-between seasons. It is cold enough to put the flops up, but not cold enough to bust out the knee boots. In NYC, I'm pulling out the trusty Uggs...God love 'em. I really don't want to pull out my tennies for this trip, but don't think I won't. I found these great flat brown boots...

Cute, right? Yeah, that's what I thought too!
But I also have some equally as cute, but not equally as comfy black boots. So I might make a last minute black converse purchase. Or black Uggs purchase (if Josie will allow). Any other shoe suggestions for this trip or now in MS? I hate a ballet flat... and there are not that many options out there right now. And I can't wear my stripper heels on an every day basis with skinnies.

I told you pressing stuff, right? Hope you have a great week! And happy birthday to my friend Jennifer! Buttermilk Biscuit Jen!

And I will leave you with a picture of that sweet baby Adda Laine. Isn't she a doll? And, of course, Zach in the background has to mess up the picture. ha!

Thoughts for Tuesday

Today's thoughts are focused on what I am watching and listening to...

1. MODERN FAMILY. Really? How did I miss this? It is so so funny! We watched the season 2 premiere last Wednesday night. And I got the first season, disc 1 on DVD the next day. I mean, it is for reals funny! It is kind of whitty, dry humor like The Office...so you know I must love it! I told sweet Josie I would be making a season 1 purchase. You know, bow season starts this weekend, and I need something to replace my husband for the next 4 months.

2. The Office. I haven't watched the premiere yet, but it is TIVO'd and I will get to it before Thursday night. Is it just me, or does The Office seem to have lost its luster? I mean, season 2-3 when Jim and Pam were going through all that...I.could.not.stop.watching. Last deer season, the complete Office series was my present to myself, and I spent countless hours watching and re-watching. Last season was good, but it did not compare to season's past. And I am so sad Micheal Scott is leaving. We have a love-hate relationship, that man and I do.

3. Music I want to download: Maroon 5's new album. I am always loved them, and I have a secret baby crush on Adam Levine. Also, Florence + The Machine. I know this album was released last year, and I am NOT just jumping on the bandwagon. Her song, Heavy in Your Arms, was featured on the Eclipse soundtrack...and I fell in love with it! My thing is, do I buy the CD or download it from itunes? I am just secretly TERRIFIED that my itunes will somehow disappear, and I will have nothing. Am I the only one with this fear? Hello? crickets.

4. Speaking of crickets, I feel like I have no readers of this stupid, little blog. I know I can rely on Jamie to be a consistent reader. And my friend Johna, but she is an anonymous reader. So, if you check out this little blog, let me know. I have outted myself to many of bloggers out there...some of who I kinda know, and some who I straight-up don't know, but I could tell you a million things about their life (run-on sentence). Show yourself, be a man or (wo-man)! Ha!

Thoughts for Tuesday

On this Tuesday, I just have a few thoughts:

1. Fall for Phi Mu is Thursday. I will explain more about this later. It gets its own post. But I am very excited about it!
2. I am going to see Legally Blonde, the Musical tonight. Me and Elle Woods are bffs. I am even trying to persuade Trish to wear pink. Bend and snap. (if you don't get that, you need to netflix the movie immediately. for it has been too long since you've seen it.)
3. Guss is getting a haircut on Saturday. Thank goodness. He is starting to look like a baby white-ish polar bear.
4. Deer season is coming soon. And sweet Josie has already been preparing our various plots of land for several months now. This year, I will ask the deer gods for patience. My sweet husband doesn't ask for much, but he does love to hunt...and sometimes I can be a stinker about it. I just like to spend time with him on the weekends, and during deer season, his time is hard to come by. So I just need patience and bite-my-tongue abilities so he can enjoy this time...thoroughly! Because he is too sweet to me, and he buys me presents. And he puts up with me...and he should be given an award for that! And he is my husband and "I knew what I was marrying in to..."" yada yada yada. I hear this every year.

That's it for today. Bend and snap.

mid-late 20 something

It was my mid-late 20's birthday on September 4th. I don't like to get into the specific number, but it might come after 26 and before 28...I'll leave it at that.
Now, I really don't think I act my age...my mid-early 20s age or my new age, for that matter. When I was younger, I just pictured myself more mature at my current age. I knew I would be married to a wonderful man (check), and maybe have a baby...or entertaining the idea of a baby, atleast (1/3 check), and have a great job that I worked 7 years for (double check). But I don't feel like my age...does that make sense? Will this be me when I am 50? Being silly and trying not to say every comment that pops into my head (but with a more mature-like 50 year old way about me)? If so, I think I will be ok with that.

Anyways, back to this current birth.
Not pictured (or was pictured, but it got deleted on this thing), the Lindleys, Adams, and Shandys went to a local restaurant to start the birthday celebrations off. The Patties couldn't come because Tara was not feeling well...turns out, she was in labor. Go figure. Ha!

Next, my sweet Phi Mus went to eat sushi. Always fun times to be had with this crowd, and we may or may not have been really loud from all the laughing.

Up next, our friend Mitch Johnston and his wife Jill were in town for the weekend, and Mitch was playing at Julep. (side note: he also played at our wedding) So, we decided to round the troops to go listen to him play!

Me and Carly Shandy. She's pretty.
(another side note: there were TONS of pictures from this night, but I had to edit and only show 1/4 of them)

The boys: Zach, Tyler, Mitch, and sweet designated driver Joey. Bless him.

Sharing a round of beverages. and water for Joey.

And here come the solo shots. Glamour shots, if you will.
The mid-late 20s birthday girl.

Carly Shandy. This was her "go-to pose" for the night. Love it!

My love. Our DD, Joey Lindley. Can't  you see the excitement on his face.

Tyler Shandy. The giver of shots that night.

The talent. Mitch Johnston. He rocked the house.

The sweet wife of The Talent and the always friendly, Jill Johnston.
Isn't she so cute in this picture?

The Obnoxious. Ha! Just kidding. The new dad! Zach Pattie.

And we felt the need to picture the sweet frog at the end of the night.

And the birthday couple. The sober DD, Joey, and his out-of-control, pass out 2 seconds after they get home, loud, and the only one on the dance floor, wife. Me, Kristin Lindley.

My birthday was fabulous, and a big thanks to all that were involved. Next year, I will be turning 25...and will be turning 25 for the next several years. Until I am 25 x 2. (get it, 50?)

And to sweet Joey, thank you for continuing to make my birthday a BIG deal every year. Even though it gets on your nerves. I have big plans for your birthday, bub. Loves you!

Ps, we all got another great birthday gift that weekend...Adda Laine Pattie was born on Labor day. We will forever share a birthday weekend. And this will forever continue to bother Zach Pattie. Ha! Here is a recent picture of the little lovie. And if you could see mama Tara, you would have never guessed she gave birth 2 weeks ago today... she looks AMAZING!

Have a great week!
