call me maybe

Have you been watching the Olympics?
Have you? Have you?
If not, you better get on that...only 14 more days to go!

Last night Missy Franklin won gold in backstroke! Go USA!
This girl is so cute! And she seems super sweet.

And homegirl is only 17. What?!?!

In celebration of her golden-ness, I thought I'd show you alittle video she made with her fellow players.
(and no, not that kind of video...get your mind out of the gutters)
This is super cute and they just look like they're having so much fun!

Also wanted to speak about Tom Daley and his upset last night with synchronized diving
Sad they messed up, but happy USA got bronze!

Now, this manboy is a cutie, but he's only 18.
So that officially makes him jailbait.

And from the looks of this picture, he's lost his pants.
Homeboy needs to cover himself up!
That is just too much!

Apparently this guy is a HUGE celebrity in GB...David Beckham-style.
He's a cutie, but again, put on some pants.

That is all my Olympic ramblings for now.
Looking forward to women's gymnastic and swimming tonight!

Olympic-ing

Dear Hudson,
Me and you are like peas and carrots. I love you!
Love, mommy

A few things to notice:
-my child has to eat naked these days
-please look at my horrid reflection in the mirror
-his sole "angel curl" and his frat boy hairstyle
-without puffs, we wouldn't make it through dinner

We watched the opening ceremonies on Friday night. I have to admit, it wasn't as fancy as I remembered Beijing to be. But again, it would be difficult to top that opening ceremonies. Regardless, it was a great show and a lot of hard work was put into it.
My favorite parts:
-parade of nations and learning the fun facts about each nation.
-Sir Paul
-"The Queen" jumping out of the plane
-lighting of the torch

This weekend, I've been cray about these Olympics. I've gone and downloaded the app on my iPad and started reading about the players and teams! For some reason, I get emotional about these players... They are just so good and they are doing what they love!
My favorites right now are gymnastics and swimming. Needless to say, the Lindleys are excited about the next 17 days!

Happy Olympic-ing!

Recently

Our weekends have changed since Hudson really started crawling and moving around.
You really can't take your eyes off him, even for a second, or he might be into something dangerous serious.
All the while, he'll look at you with those puppy eyes and melt.your.heart.

So you end up frustrated, but confused because he's so cute, and running at him like you're crazytown because he's about to get into something.

Crawled under his bouncy trying to catch a ball
The baby loves him a ball!

We went swimming with Jessica and Carson on Saturday. Oh how I love these two!
It is so wonderful to just sit and talk mommy with her.
And the boys are actually getting to the age where they will interact. Carson even gave Hudson a kiss!
Thanks BFD for the pictures

These water babies stayed in the pool for almost 2 hours, with the help of puffs, yogurt, and milk.
Don't they kinda look like old men fishing?

On Saturday morning, I walked into Hudson's room to get him up from a nap and this is what I saw....
Hudson Lindley STANDING and staring at me.
Now, he has been practicing his standing but never like this. And he just looks so happy.
That smile is my whole entire world!

I also got a quick video of him standing in his crib. I'm telling you, it just shocked me so much to see him doing that. So I grabbed every camera/recording device I could find.

And I love hearing him say his 'babababa"

On Sunday, we played dress up.
When I was pregnant and found our Hudson was a "he", my first thoughts about his clothing were "seersucker and sailorsuits". Well, his wardrobe is just that. And add smocked and appliques to that!
My mom found one of Brett's old outfits and Mr. Hudson is sporting it today.
Gotta love a good 1980's sailsuit!

Bubba (the orignial receptiant of the outfit) and Hudson
How sweet is this picture?

Kiki also pulled out some of our old things for Hudson. I am so thankful that she kept all these things. It will be so special for Hudson to have these antiques pieces.
They really don't make them like that any more (spoken is my favorite granny voice)

Our rocking horse

An antique chair Kiki found this weekend. That sailor is having a good time!

And you know we have to support the MS Highway Patrol. It's in our blood!
Poppy, I know you like this one!

In other exciting news, two of my best friends recently had babies

Colton Lane Shandy
July 13th, 2012
7 lbs 10 oz

Mommy and baby. Both looking beautiful!
We are so happy for those Shandys!

Up next, we have...

Jack Porter Fair
July 16th, 2012
7 lbs 15 oz
Sloanie, me and the baby Jack Porter
I was instructed that she didn't want to call him JP

That precious baby.
Sorry, I'm looking REAL rough!

Lots of sweet new baby boys for Hudson to play with.
I love that lots of my besties are having babies!

Mexican fun

We love our local mexican restaurant, El Ranchito!
And now that Hudson is eating some solids when he decides to participate at dinner time, taking the baby to dinner is so much easier!

I documented one of our recent trips to the mexicana.

Full of puffs and rice crackers

We are working on that pincer grasp.
I've read that hand dominance is not known at this age, but he really favors that left hand with most tasks. I love a good lefty!

Our mess we left on the floor. That boy can make a mess!
It looks much worse than that this picture and we even asked for a broom to tiddy up!

And this is a small video of Hudson feeding himself and you can see the lefty in action
Bless his bones, he loves to just stuff that food in!

I caught him last night trying to stuff 5 goldfish in his mouth last night. 5 goldfish!!
That boy can be cray sometimes.

Playdate

Last weekend (or two weeks ago), The Warrens came to play.
Swee John Franklin is so cute! And he has gotten so big...these babies grow so fast!
Why the daddies talked about hunting, gun, and all other stupid manly things, the mommies and the babies got to play.
We even got to pull out the ole playmate for JF. Hudson had forgotten that thing existed!

This monkey was all over the place!

Being camera shy

The boys playing together.
Since JF hasn't mastered his sitting up yet, Hudson was willing to get on the floor and roll around with him

Yummy feet!

The mommies and babies. Two generations of BFFs!
They aren't the best pictures over...but always fun to document

Love our sweet babies!

Whenever me and Grace get together, our conversations always go to breastfeeding, bottles, waketime, sleeptime, toys, smocked clothes, and all other infant things....maybe one day, we can have some adult conversation again. But for now, we are loving our life being best friends and new mommies!

Love you Gracie and John Franklin!

And on the nursing front, I have officially stopped my morning session as of this morning. And that was my last session to drop. And as of this morning, Hudson continues to not want a bottle. Yesterday, he didn't drink anything from 10:00 am- 7:30 pm. Really? I am starting to get worried about dehydration, but Dr. Jones assured me that the baby will drink when he gets hungry. I'm not so sure about my child.
At this point, I am no longer sad about quitting nursing. I made it 10 months. He's good. But I am concerned about him not wanting a bottle or sippy.

hudson 9 months

Hudson Lindley is 9 months old
I literaly love him more and more everyday!
He is such an amazing gift and joy to our lives

9 month info about Hudson:
-Still nursing, but as of July 1st, I have started the weaning process. It is time. And Hudson has decided he doesn't want to take a bottle too easily these days, we are tryng to nip that in the bud.
-Starting to eat solids. We have tried bananas, green beans, carrots, peas, corn (a mixed veggie bag), pancakes, one bite of eggs, sweet potatoes, rice, cheerios, puffs, and baby mum mum crackers. He is really starting to get the hang of the veggies. He is not feeding himself the small things yet, but is working on his pincer grasp.
-Wearing size 3 diapers. We finally made the switch up.
-Wearing 9 month clothing and some 12 month for length
-Hudson has 2 teeth now. The second one came on June 30th. Both bottom front teeth.
-Crawling all over the place. And the fun begins.
-Starting to pull up. When he wakes up, i'll walk in his room and he'll be sitting straight up, on his knees, and hanging on the the top of the crib for dear life. So, we dropped that thing as low as it would go last week
-Still only saying "babababa", but he has started to mimic us with our tone and number of "ba's". Its the funniest thing. And when he gets really upset, I swear he sneaks in a "mamama"
-Loves his little hand held balls. His new favorite game is dropping them on the hardwood and chasing after them. He also loves his light up turtle, spin toy and exersaucer.
-Taking 2-3 naps a day. When he's at school, he mostly cap naps, but when he's home, he will sleep in his crib for about an hour at a time. We've come a long way in the nap department
-Laughs big and gets his feelings hurt big. Even if it's something small, he will cry like you have just told him "there is not santa"
ps, no one is ever allowed to tell my child this
-We are attempting to teach him to wave "ba ba" and patty cake. He thinks its too funny when we do this
-He has started chasing after Riley and sneak a pet or grab when she's not looking. She just jumps and runs away...but she's warmed up to Hudson way more than Guss has.
-Loves his momma. We are definitely going through a separation phase. If I leave the room, he will either start crying or will take off after me. I'm kinda ready for this phase to be over, but I do enjoy loving on that baby all the time!

"What? No Santa?"

I'm ok now

I love that cheesy grin so much! And those curls!
Little Joey Hudson Lindley

Jailbait

How can I escape?

Basically these past 9 months has been the best of my life. People ask me if I miss the baby-baby stage, and I do. But I am having so much fun with him now, I hardly ever think about that. He's got such a personality and it's really starting to show. We are just so in love with him!

side note: if anyone has any insight as to how to get this cute 9 month old to take a bottle? he is straight up refusing it. only wants to nurse! i have tried leaving the room, letting someone else give it to him, and every other trickery...to no avail! we need help!

The Fourth

Yesterday was a great and relaxing day!

We grilled out with the Adams' and celebrated the birthday of America!

Aunt bird loves that baby boy!

Splash pad fun

Nothing sweeter than a baby booty! And he loved the nakedness

My little lovie

After we sufficiently stuffed our faces with wing dip, hamburgers, hotdogs, cupcakes and homemade ice cream, our night ended with the dreaded fireworks.
The kids next door were still shooting at 10:30, and this crazy momma wanted to call the police. Fireworks outside my 9 month old's window... Don't even play. But I decided to hold my crazy in and Hudson didn't wake up (with the help of the noise machine on HIGH)

Hope your day was great, USA!

side note: I used to love fireworks until my sweet angel jumps-in-his-sleep baby came. I will like them again next year.
