Hudson Lindley is FOUR

My first born, Hudson Lindley, turned FOUR years old yesterday!
Insert sad tears
This sweet boy knew his birthday was in September and has been talking about it the whole month. He knew we went to the beach for his birthday, but was also very excited about opening presents and eating birthday cake. That child lives for birthday cake.
I've decided to do a joint party for Hudson and Lillian in mid-October, so yesterday was all about celebrating Hudson with family and at his school.

He woke up to a donut hole cake and blue balloons everywhere!
He made me re-light the candle 3 times, so he could blow it out!
Please look at that smile!
When I got to his school for cupcakes, he was so excited to see us! We got to sing happy birthday again and he got to wear the birthday crown.
And Sissy just made herself at home...that girl has no shame!

I got to read a book to the class, which for some reason made me slightly nervous!
Love my boys!

When I was setting up the plates and cupcakes, I put Barnes on the rug, Well, of course all the kiddos swarmed him, and protective and proud Hudson went into full effect. He was telling them to back up and "Thats my baby brother Barnes"  Its sweet to see that protective side of him

And I ordered Hudson a cake from Kroger. She said it fed 10-12 people, which would have been perfect for us. Well, I picked it up and it was a total mini-cake. Hudson could eat that whole thing himself. So I had to get a back up cake since my parents and brother were coming over to open presents and eat pizza.
We gave him several books he wanted, a race car mat with cars, some camo pants and boots (for the deercamp), some tennis shoes and an Imaginext Rescue City thing.
But Hudson's favorite present- The CAT train set that Bubba gave him. This thing is so cool! He loved it so much, he was convinced that the whole train set should sleep in the bed with him. And if Lillian got anywhere near the thing, he started screaming at the top of his lungs. Ha!

All day long, he kept saying "Its my birthday and I'm going to get a surprise!"
I tried to make his day so so special, because my mom always made us feel so special and made the day ALL about us. And I still feel that way about my birthday.... And I want that for all my children!

Hudson Lindley, you are the first tiny love of my life. I love your brain and watching you grow and learn. I love that you love your daddy so much, but you still want mommy to love on  you. I love that you love your brother and sister so much! I love you with my whole heart and I hope you had the most special day! You are my favorite FOUR year old!

September catch up

Just like that, summer is over. Once school starts, it just really flies on by.
I'm trying my hardest to play catch up....which is basically the story of my life!

We do all these fun things, and I'll totally forget to take pictures. Thats what you get when you are chasing around two very active toddlers (while the other one is either strapped to you or on your hip)

Barnes doing what he does best, smiling and giggling!
Sissy had a good nap
Matching outfits for church. If I can get two out of three smiling, I call it a win!
Carson's birthday party at Pump it Up.
Last year, Hudson was scared of the big slides but this year, he went straight for them!
And, of course, our daredevil Lillian went down the slides
Barnes got to see his birthday twin and future BFF, Ford!

Pizza night with Georgia, Walt and Cooper when the daddies were working late
I posted this picture to my instagram. What a difference a year can make. Barnes is the sweetest caboose to ever exist and we are so glad God gave him to us!
My heart and lap stays full full full!
Bubba's birthday at County Seat in Livingston. Such a cute, new development!
This wrap, the baby k'tan, is hands down my favorite baby iten (especially when you have 3 or more kiddos). Barnes would literally live in this thing!
We went to the cooking school at Livingston at the beginning of September. So fun to have a girls night out! And might I add that Joey was out of town and made a special trip home just so I could go to this class. That man is too good to me!
Jamie, me, Katie and Sarah
Finished product: pan crusted flounder, brussel sprouts, mash potatoes, and the best (and only) tomato soup I've ever had!
The instructor probably hated us because we really just wanted to visit and eat. So we decided next time, we'll just head to a restaurant!
Adda Laine's birthday party at Lake Caroline
My tiny lovies
Barnes and his questionable girls outfit (rick-rack)
And his first time in the swing. This child's middle name should be hand-me downs. Every one of the Lindley babies has seen this green swing. And he loved it!

The big kids

I haven't written anything about just the big kids lately. They are growing up so so fast!!
Hudson just turned four (yesterday) and Sissy will be two on October 16th.
Hudson and Lillian are the true definition of brother and sister...they play hard and they have started to fight hard. Since Lillian's been able to move around, she has pretty much been in pounce mode with Hudson. And at first, he was scared to play back with her because she was being so rough, but now, they will straight up kick and scream at eachother.

They really do have so much fun together! Lillian loves him so so much and watches his every move. Hudson has started to be more aware of where she is, and will try to initiate play time with her.

A few things about Lillian:
- She is about 24-25 lbs
- wearing 24 mths/2T clothes and size 4 diapers
- She is a totally SASSY pants and i'm afraid the terrible twos have hit our household. If there is something she wants and she can't get it, you better back.it.up because she is about to get crazy!
- Current loves her pap paps (only at night and nap), her baby dolls, this ugly blue stuffed puppy, the movie RIO, Finding Nemo, and Frozen, plain cheerios, goldfish, any and every fruit but she currently loves to eat whole apples, just started drinking apple juice and loving it, bathtime, rough housing with Hudson (or anyone who will play with her), hiding household trinkets (we still can't find our master bedroom remote), giving the tightest and sweetest hugs (and closing her eyes while doing it), wearing a bow in her hair, the ipad, and my brother, Bubba
- Today when I picked her up from MMO, her sweet teachers told me that she was giving hugs out left and right...and she got very intense with these hugs. Basically, she is a rough hugger. Geez, atleast she's not biting (yet).
- Funny things she says: "Back on, bow" "Ready to go, mommy" "read-it" "No, no, no" (while shaking her finger), "Frozeee" (Frozen), "ice-milk" (water) "caaaaaaake" "ride that weee" (ride the gator with Hudson) "side-side" (outside)
She says a million other things, but I just wanted to remember the funny ones. She also has words that I can't understand, but she says the exact same thing every time. Like her word for elephant, chicken, mooo-cow, train
- She calls Hudson "Sissy" She knows her name is Sissy, but she also calls him that too? I'm still confused by it.
- She has the most beautiful hair with ringlets in the back. Thank goodness it finally grew in!

Things about Hudson:
- Wearing 4T clothes and some 5T pants for length (still no blue jeans)
- Completely potty trained, amen and AMEN! And recently stopped sleeping in pull ups too!
- Has become very outspoken about what he wants. And if he doesn't get it, he starts to cry which is annoying. So we are working through that. Still trying to explain to him that big boys don't cry like that. Also still trying to figure out which disciplinary technique works best for him.
- Current loves: anything daddy related, dinosaurs, his new CAT train set, digging for rocks, playing in the dirt, the movie RIO, Ice Age, Planes Fire and Rescue, having Sissy chase him around the house, reading books with daddy at night, cutting the grass with daddy/papa, riding on the gator, playing with his flashlights in the dark, Soccertots at school, Mrs Ann Marie (his speech therapist), fishing at the pond, playing with trucks, Pete the Cat books, cake and cupcakes, plain wheat bread, the small cups of applesauce, he is an obsessive collector of trinkets and if he really loves it, he will put it on his dresser at night for it to "watch him"
- He told me tonight "If I touch my friends at school, I have to sit in the thinking chair"
I think that means time out, but not sure? Ha!
- Other funny things he says: "Horsey fly", "Don't be loud to me" (don't yell at me), he loves to repeat this phrase from one of his books "Sometimes being small is just big enough",
- At night, when we are leaving his room, he wants to use say "Love you, goodnight, ok, thats it" every single night. And he usually plays with his flashlight for a few minutes, rolls around talking to himself, and then goes to sleep
- Trying to drop his afternoon nap, which makes for a grumpy/hyper little boy in the late afternoon
- As nice nasty as he can be, he has the sweetest little heart and is just learning new things every day!

Love these angels more than words!

Barnes is six months!

Sweet angel baby Barnes is SIX months old! He's the squishiest, smiliest thing and we love him so much!

Things about Barnes at SIX months:
-still nursing 6 times a day. But he is ready to switch to a four hour schedule. I'm just waiting until after the beach to make the switch. We started solids this month around the first of September. He's been eating baby oatmeal with BM around 5:30 pm. And this week, he tried banana and avocado. Of course, he loved! I will start making all of his food when we get back from our trip.
- still very chunky. Last time I got him on the scale, he was around 18.5 lbs
- our sleep is still inconsistent. The only thing that has changed is him waking closer to 5 am and wanting to eat. He still goes back down until 8 am. CIO has been pretty good to us, bc he will go back to sleep after 15ish mins.
- wearing 9 mths clothing and some 12 mths for stride length. This boy is chunky! I bought a very questionable (but sweet) bubble that was 12 mths and it fit him pretty good, although it might have been for a girl. Wearing size 3 diapers during the day and a size 4 at night.
- love to stick his tongue out these days. Notice exhibit A and B in pictures below. It's the cutest thing!
- loves loves loves to be held. Especially by his mommy! he really is the happiest baby in the world IF he's being held or you're all up in his face.
- he's gotten pretty good about sitting up. Still topples over, but his righting reflexes are starting to kick in.
- he's really started to like his exersaucer and can stay in it for about 15-20 mins at a time.
- he has started reaching for our faces and he loves to touch joey's beard.
- did I mention he loves to smile?

Love my sweet, hip-baby Barnes!
