8 months

Hudson Lindley turned 8 months old on May 29th!
Wow...my sweet angel is 8 months old and just getting sweeter by the day.

Just look at that sweet smile!

He loves an open mouth smile!

And this is what he has started doing lately....trying to pull up!
He can pull up on me, but hasn't successfully figured out the crib yet. Thank goodness!
But just in case, we are lowering the crib tonight.

Please look at that determined look on his face!

Things about Hudson at 8 months:
-Still nursing 5 times a day. Eating solids 3 times a day
-Wearing mostly 9 month clothes and some 12 months (for length) and size 2 diapers.
side note: I am kind of at a crossroads with this nursing thing. Either I need to just quit now, or be determined and stick it out for 3.5 more months. I'm just questioning if doing formula for 2 months is even worth it. #internalstruggle
-Sleep. Ah, sleep. You've been tricky these last few months. This months, we are find our groove after the roadbumps from the spring (the flu, fever virus, no more swaddling). The thing with Hudson is little things throw off his sleep in a BIG way. As of now, we are sleeping through the night.
-He has started to pull up on my legs. The boys loves to stand (with me assisting him, of course)
-Starting the initiate the crawling position. Not crawling, but we are getting there!
-Can purposefully bring hands to midline and switch things from one hand to the other
-Super attached to his mommy. He cries when he sees me leave the room.
-Will go to town in his exersaucer...bouncy.bouncy.bouncy
-At a recent sick baby visit, he weighed 17 lbs, 13 oz. Growing like a weed!
-Loves to be tickled and will laugh out load at the anticipation of that hand coming at him
-Has started saying bah bah bah bah (we are working on mah mah mah)
-Still have head full of blonde hair and it is WHITE in the back
-We are now taking baths in the big bathtub. He has his little toys he plays with and just splashes around. Until you turn on the faucet...He just stares at the water coming out. I think it startles him.
-Toys he loves: little rings that make noises, balls, and the remote

He is my angel of the world!
We are loving our life with this growing baby!

(and don't worry, his first birthday party is already being planned)

beach 2012

We had a great time at the beach with my family!!
Hudson Lindley loves the water...so that part was easy.
The only part that wasn't easy was his sleep. He didn't sleep at all at night...but that did spoil our time!

A few things I want you to notice while you look:
1. My child's open mouth smile in almost every picture. I.LOVE.IT!
2. My child's smocked outfits. I think I am the only one that appreciates them!
3. My lack of tan-ness. It's hard to get a decent tan at the beach with a 7 month old.
4. My cute brother. He's single and I'm determined to marry him off.

He's cool in his shades

My two loves.
Daddy and his mini me.

My cute, single brother.

Kiki and Papa Frank

Hudson with his Bubba

And you know we had to have family portrait beach sessions...
Joey wasn't too happy about this but he was a good sport!

The all white pictures are next. You just got to do it!

And a few things I've learned after the beach trip with a 7 month old:
1. The baby pool is a MUST! Hudson loved it!
2. Baby lotion sunscreen works is so much easier than baby spray sunscreen
3. A baby hat (with velcro chin strap) and sunglasses are very valuable
4. A tailgate tent is also very valuable...and someone to put it up at 7am also helps!
(Thanks Josie and Brett)
5. Bringing the big daddy camera to the beach is good for pictures, but use something better than a walgreen bag to protect it
6. You definitely need the little swimmers for the water. But they are the pull-up kind and they are a bitch to get off when they are wet and poop filled
7. The waves sound can be very relaxing to a 7 month old...and napping on the beach is possible
8. When going to Orange Beach, always eat at Cobalt (or 2-3 times in our case)
9. When going to the outlet mall, always leave your child with daddy

We had an absolute blast and can't wait to go back next year!!
If a 7 month old was fun, just think what an 18 month old will be like...

Head gear and water cage

Look at Hudson's new head gear.

Does Hudson have something on his face? Ha!
These are the 6+month paps. Don't they look way too big? He kinda looks ridic! We might be sticking with the newborn ones for awhile!
And this is how he likes to have it lately... Hanging out the side of his mouth. I think he's chewing on it.
Bless his pappy self!

This size fits him much better!
(newborn MAM)

We love our MAM paps!
A-hoye maty! He's modeling his pirate ship romper!

And bathtime.
Please look at this yellow ring. This was mine and brother's from the 80's. Kiki brought it over. Not gonna lie, this thing actually helps and he can't go slipping and sliding around.

And yes, I put my child in a water cage. Look at that face, he likes it!

Surfs up!

Someone is loving the beach...

Hudson Lindley has decided he likes to make a splash!

And in other news: going to the beach with a 7 month old is definitely not relaxing! But we are having a great time!

Until next time, life's a beach!

Mother's day

I love being this little man's mommy....

I am so thankful God chose me to mother him!
(can "mother" be used as a verb like that?)

He's excited about the beach!!

Hudson has gotten crafty! I got the most perfect card ever this morning! I know I will cherish it forever. And daddy hooked it up with the glitter pen!
I love my boys with all my heart!

I am thankful to have my momma, Kiki, as such a role model and example of what a mother should be. Hudson and I are both very lucky to have our Kiki!

Happy mother's day!

Catching up

Hey there! I'm in a funk and I'm glad it's almost the weekend.

Moving on, so these are the iPhone pictures from our annual Bingham crawfish boil at the lake house.

I have some pictures on my biggie camera, but those aren't on my computer yet...these will do. And I will let them do the talking!

It was definitely a great day with family!

Last night, we had a girls dinner with the lovely phi mu ladies... Laughter always ensues with us!

And I really needed that time with my sweet friends last night!

Lastly, we are heading to the beach soon! And we are bringing this tot...

I feel like I've got all the floaties, tents, toys, and beach baby related things I can think of. But is there anything I'm missing? What is your favorite baby beach item?

We are basically packing up our entire house, so one or two more items won't hurt. I guess we'll have to get one of those luggage things to strap on top of the Acura....1990's minivan style.

Happy Thursday!
