fun weekend

I had a nice, relaxing 5 day weekend.
And it was wonderful. Wonderfully wonderful.
And I am excited and hopeful that more times like that will happen in the near future.
And the rambling has begun....

Back to the weekend. It was a great, relaxing weekend. Hudson got a cold and had snot everywhere running down his nose at.all.times. But that didn't spoil our fun!

We had our monthly girls dinner at Panasia. Funness follows us.
I tore up some half price sushi

Daddy and Hudson watching the college world series

Friday night, we had date night.
Mexican and a movie. And, of course, Joey let me pick the movie!

I picked Snow White and the Huntsman
Ya'll, it was so good!!! Like, I want to see it again, good!

And I had to support my girl, Kristen. She was still kinda fidgety, but really she did a great job!
Maybe her best role yet

And she was so good, too! Scary, but good!
Joey liked all the action...those little dwarfs can fight!
I even heard sweet Josie saying he wanted to see it again
It was alittle different than the Disney movie and I almost totally forgot about the whole eat-the-apple thing. But the basic Snow White "bones" were still there.

On Saturday morning, we went to Another Broken Egg for breakfast.
I really think this was the best dining experience we've had with Hudson EVER!
He was able to sit in his little chair and I gave him bites of pancakes. First pancake alert!
And he LOVED it! That sweet baby loves his carbs like his momma.

I mean, look at that face!

Hudson sailed away in a dream
(cheese ball alert)

And for your viewing pleasure, this is Hudson Lindley eating some homemade greenbeans I made.
This baby loves gerber green beans, but he doesn't like the homemade stuff

I really do love making his baby food, but Hudson really doesn't love to eat it.
He will eat the bananas and avocado, but the green beans, squash/zucchini, peas, and carrots are a struggle. Maybe its the consistency.

Now we are just gearing up for another week.
Happy Monday!

our first babies

Dear Pups,
I said it wouldn't happen. I really tried to fight it, but it has happened. You are now just puppies to me. Before Hudson Lindley was born you were MY babies, especially you Guss. You snuggled with us in the bed and we treated you like the little babies that you were. But since the birth of the real baby in our life, things have been different. And I swore it would never happen. But let's be honest here: Real human babies are very different from real puppies babies. And I am going to be real honest,
I love Hudson way more than I love you, puppies.
Gah, I hate to even write that, let alone think it, but it's totally true. It's just a different kind of love now. Things are just different.
When you bark, Guss, and you wake up Hudson, it makes me furious! And you just keep barking like its the last bark ever. And you, Riley, bless your puppy bones, you just want to be in every one's business and all over Hudson's play area. And you shed. The baby doesn't need to be covered in your white fur!
And the saddest part is, I think you know it. I think you know that you're now on the backburner. You have been demoted to just puppy status.
Last year, when we went to the beach (before Hudson), I freaked out about who was going to keep you and watch over you. This year for the beach, I just let Joey handle it and never questioned it. (PS, HUGE thanks to Brian and Susan for still loving our dogs and keeping them when we aren't able to). Just one example of how things have changed.
I still love you pups, but now its just like a pet you when the baby's around but don't breath your bad breath on me kinda love. And I'm sorry for that.
And I understand that you probably love your daddy more now. And I'm ok with that.

Love,
Mom
(aka: the girl that you mostly shoose you away these days)

Big father's day weekend!

Happy Father's day to my favorite husband!
Ha! My only husband, but my favorite person and Hudson's favorite daddy.

Joey is such an amazing daddy to Hudson, just like I knew he'd be!
And bonus, They get to share a face...those little look-a-likes

I can't wait to see these two play together in the future!

I decided to get kinda pintrest crafty for Father's Day.
Exhibit A: this wood, footprint, paint thing.
Joey LOVED it!

Exhibit B: we are "NUTS" about you, dad"

And my last gift was not crafty, but Joey got a Yeti cooler.
He always says it would be useful to have one, but he would never actually get one for himself.
That boy doesn't ask for much. But when he saw that cooler, he was so excited!
"Wildly stronger, keeps ice longer"

Another amazing daddy is my daddy, Papa Frank.
We love that Papa Frank and his italian self!
And this man is wild about Hudson Lindley. It makes me smile!

I hope that the two best daddys ever felt extra loved this weekend!

In other BIG news:
We have a tooth! On Friday night, we noticed a little spike in Hudson's lower gum.
And on Saturday morning, I felt that spike...and his grumpiness confirmed it.
We have a tooth, people!
You can't see it in this picture, I just thought that smile was too much to handle!
Already such a boy, dominating the remote

And the even BIGGER news: Hudson crawled yesterday!!
He has been trying to do this for several weeks, but he finally figured it out!
We are so excited...and scared because we are officially mobile.

This is one of lots many videos taken from yesterday.
He got so much better as the day progressed

Big milestones this weekend.
And here I was thinking my son will still be rolling around and gumming food when he's 21.
Silly mommy, everything will happen in time!

First crawl: June 17, 2012

Happy Monday!

Here comes the bride!

Ya'll, my best friend is ENGAGED!!

I have talked about Jamie alot on this blog... and I pretty much talk to her every day on the phone or via text
And we are just thrilled for her and Justin!

Aren't they the cutest couple ever!!

On Sunday, she came over so I could get a good look at the bling and we could start the wedding talk.
Oh, how I love wedding talk!

And look at that ring...Justin did so good!!
He is seriously shining

Hudson is so excited about the new bling!!

He looooves his NeNe.

To the soon-to-be Jamie "jimmy dean sausage king" Dean, I love you and I am so excited for you!!
You will make a stunning bride and I can't wait to share this time with you!
(and Ebony can't wait either)

And Hudson can't wait to donn his tux with bowtie and tails. He loves a formal affair!

It's Friday!

Happy Friday from a soon-to-be crawler...

This little angel gave my whole family the stomach bug this week! He picked us off one by one: mommy, daddy, kiki, papa frank and bubba.
So last weekend, maybe it wasn't the puffs that made him projectile vomit after all... who knows!

We have several fun things going on this weekend, but mostly I'm excited to spend the weekend with my little man!
Happy Friday folks!

memorial day weekend...yes, i'm late

Memorial weekend was a great one....
We got to visit with our BFFs Jessica and Carson.
The boys got to swim together for the first time...they were both wanting to be held in the water. Shocking.

Thanks LeighAnn and Dylan for inviting us to come swim with yall!
Dylan is 5 months old. Carson and him will have such a fun time being sweet cousins

That baby is so pale! He has him daddy's skin.
Our swimming always includes his swim shirt, hat and 50 SPF

We had some baby pool time.
The boy loves the water!

We also had some snooze time on mommy

Playing with our blocks.
Love those baby blues!
We also had crawfish at the Beacom's house
Claire and Hudson are good friends and they take the funniest pictures together.

Claire wanted to feed Hudson with her spoon. And he apparently was all about it.

Hats off to Mr. Jonathan Beacom for making some of the best crawfish I've ever had!

We also visited the Livingston Farmers Market with Jamie and Justin.
We aren't the farmer's market type (picking out veggies, homemade soaps, and dirt)
But Livingston was so much fun! We saw lots of friends there. They also had a water slide that Hudson will LOVE in a few years. And honestly, I will love it too.

Me and my baby boy :)

Gotta love summer weekends with my family!
And I promise, sweet Josie is always with us, but he seriously hides from the camera these days.
Atleast Hudson is not camera-shy.

Happy Hump day!

This weekend, we...

This weekend, we...
Fell asleep on mommy

This weekend, we ate puffs and projectile vomited everywhere. Ev-er-y-where.

True story: we were on a date and Kiki was watching Hudson. We'd just ordered our drinks and my mom calls me in a serious panic because Hudson was apparently vomiting up his last 18 meals. She also said he was acting kinda funny. So we raced home. By the time we got there, he was totally fine and laughing hysterically. I think it just really freaked her out. My mom is really level headed, but when it comes to Hudson Lindley, all bets are off. She boards the crazy train.

This weekend, we got to play with my brother's new baby. Meet Ranger. Did I mention that he is single?

Look at that face!

This weekend, we learned how to get on all fours.

He's still rocky, but he looks good!

This weekend, we played some ball!

This weekend, we got to shower one of my favorite preggies, Carly Shandy.

This weekend, we visited Broadmoor and loved it! Hudson fell asleep during the service.

This weekend, we:
-Installed the new carseat
-Hung out with our amazing friends
-Ate eggs and toast before church
-Visited family in McComb
-Ate pasta with Kiki and Papa Frank
-Started Hatfields and Mccoys
-Cuddled with sweet Josie

Other than the dramatic date night on Friday, it was a great weekend!
