Seersucker and Sailor suits!

We got a big surprise on Thursday!
We found out sweet Baby Lindley is a BOY!
A boy!!! Sweet, little romper wearing boy!

We weren't suppose to find out until the middle of May, but after a (small) amount of begging, my sweet MD let us take a peak. And she said, "Now we will look, but don't go buy after this because nothing will be definite."
And this is definitely what we saw...

hello boy!
(those are the legs on the right and the left)
And then she confirmed after seeing this picture. She couldn't deny.
Look at that sweet, little pelvis. You know I'm going to pick out the anatomy!

Of course we were so so excited!! Joey Lindley is over the moon!
And as long as I can dress him in sweet outfits like the ones below (until he is 2), I am over the moon!
We love him already.
And no, we don't have a name yet. Still working on it.

Sweet Lions

Sweet helicopters

Sweetness all around.

So keep Baby L in your prayers. He is already so sweet, we know that! But we hope and pray that he is so healthy, too!
We are truly blessed!

letter to the editor: NOT so ga-ga

Dear Lady Gaga,
What is going on with you lately? You  used to sing about Bad Romances, PokerFaces, and Alejandros....What are you singing about now? Drags, Queens, and Judas? I don't love politics in songs, especially when it sends a confusing message. Why are you trying to be confusing? Where is the light and fun dance music? I miss it! Of course, you are fabulous and so so talented, but I miss your old songs that you could break it down to. And people are starting to call you Lady GAga, with emphasis on the first "Ga". I guess I am just used to the old, southen accent way "Gaaa Gaaa."
Come on back, Lady Gaga. We miss you.

Love,
one of your (not so) little monsters.

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

I watched the best movie this weekend...

Romeo + Juliet
(the 1996 version)

Have ya'll watched this movie lately? Wow! it was so so good! I know what you are thinking...Kristin, that movie is so old, and weird. But if you know this blog, you know that I like weird movies.

I haven't seen this movie in years, YEARS! The first time, I think I just stared at Leonardo the whole movie. He is pretty in this film. Really pretty! But this time, I actually paid attention to the words and could understand what they were saying. You know, that Shakespeare has a lingo all his own.
But this movie has a contemporary twist to it!

And I don't know if its the hormones or the actual movie, but I sobbed through the whole thing.

And when I shall die, take him and cut him up in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will fall in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun.
Act 3, Scene 2

So I guess that's what tired, preggies do on a Sunday: watch their husband do yard work and sob at Shakespeare...and eating all.day.long
Perfect Sunday!

1st one down, 2 to go!

I am officially out of my first trimester.
They say the 2nd trimester is the "glory days" of pregnancy. The "gloriest day" to me was around 11 weeks when the all.day.and.night nausea subsided. It was BAD. Don't get my wrong, I could still eat. Big girl's been eating since day one, but now, I don't need sprite or crackers to nibble on all day. Up next with the magic 2nd trimester, the exhaustion is suppose to get better. I am waiting for this flip to switch...for I am tired every hour of every day. BUT there is a baby in this belly, and for that, I am eternally grateful!

Funny things about the first trimester:

1. Your husband can (attempt) to convince you that you're crazy.
When I saw 2 lines, I was 3 weeks pregnant. By the next week, this baby was already making me nauseas and tired. Now, you ask: How can something the size of a sesame seed do that to you? You are 27ish years old, suck it up. Well, no, Joey Lindley, I am not making this up in my head....I'm still not sure he's convinced  I was just trying to get attention. And at some point, I even began to wonder if it was in my head. After speaking with other pregnant people, I decided I did not board the crazytrain and learned to give Joey "the look." (if you don't know what "the look" is, you must not be married. When your spouse gives you "the look," you will know and you will shut your trapper.)

2. You aren't showing, but you are just chubby. And for awhile, you can't tell people you are pregant. So here you are: chubby, pale, sober, and want to go to bed at 7:30 pm. A barrel of fun! And you get those weird looks like, "Geez, what happened to her?"

3. Every week, you begin to identify with a new fruit or vegetable. This week, we have Lemon Lindley. We started out as Blastocyte Lindley...we've come a long way!

4. Food that you normally crave or long for becomes gross. Who knew turkey sandwiches, shrimp, and chicken could be so repulsive? Nastiness.

5. My husband seems to think he's given me this "gift". This child is his gift to me. Now, I know this baby is a special gift.....from JESUS. Not Joey Lindley. I appreciate your excitedness about the "gift", but no, you can't buy a new truck because of it.

That is all for now.
I promise not to make this blog all about baby. But yes, Burney is a part of our life now. And I still smile everyday thinking about it.

what's in a name?

I love this picture.

This was taken at my parent's lakehouse in Camden, MS.
(I borrowed the image from my brother gf, Casey).

I forget sometimes how much I love my maiden name. Don't get me wrong, I love love love being a Lindley, but Zito is such a different name. No one has that name around here...unless we are related!
I kinda wish I could incorporate Zito into bambino's name, but that would be a really weird name to be called. Zito Lindley, ha!

And that scary deer head was a gift from one of my dad's customers. I think its too much with the feathers, the antlers, and the scary face, but it fits the cabin well. And my dad loves it!

Have a fabulous weekend!
We are heading to Brookhaven tomorrow to watch Chad and Katie legally unite. Super excited about it! And I am sporting a chubby belly in my dress. I hope people don't assume I've just been eating too much...there is a reason for that bump.
(ps, burn's the size of a peach this week.)
