What's in THE name?

This baby has a name. And we are so excited about it.

Joseph "Hudson" Lindley

Love it? Want to marry it? Me too!!!!
I was looking for a weird unique name to offset the normal-ness of Joseph. Now, I love the name Joseph, obviously after my beloved AND my dear ole dad. But it is a very common and safe name. After endless conversations with Josie, he finally agreed (and liked) Hudson. I think it's the perfect combination of manly-ness and sweet baby boy-ness.

For example:
"And the award for best smocked sailorsuit goes to....Hudson Lindley"
(sweet baby boy)

"Up next at bat, Hudson Lindley"
(manly man-boy)

And don't get me started on calling him the middle name business. It will be fine. He will be a big boy about it, and it will be fine. I have heard both sides of this arguement, and we are planning to proceed with the name as said above. So nah!

Changing the subject off my precious baby boy.
 Celebrity crush alert.

I loved you as a youngie...
You can give me the thumbs-up anytime, Zach Morris.

And I love you now. All grown up. And very foxy looking, might I add.
You have aged very well, my friend.

I was making a Saved By The Bell reference to my small cousins the other day...and they didn't know what that was! Really? How can this be? That should be one of those programs they show in school...along with Huck Finn or whatever.

The beach!

Back to reality has settled in. Our fun beach trip seems like a far away memory, and I'm sad about it.
But we had a great time in Orange Beach. Somehow, Trish scored us this AMAZING 3 bedroom mansion condo for the week. And we were spoiled.
And don't get me started on the king size bed...me and Josie looove a king size bed. I feel like he sleeps miles away from me in a king size. Con: not as much snuggle time. (probably a pro for Joey, though).

We also got to see the little smurf that is Kenny Chesney. More on that in my next post. It was fun, but concerts stress me out.

I brought big daddy camera and little pocket camera, but I didn't take a single picture because Brett's gf Casey, had the photo section on LOCK DOWN. She was our beach trip 2011 professional photographer and i loved it! The only thing I didn't love was standing next to her skinny butt in pictures (love you, Casey!)
While there are plenty of bikini belly shots from the week, they shall not been seen on this blog. As much as I like to post pics of myself on this thing, that would be crossing the line. For this 5 month pregnant woman is un-fit for a camera.
And I must mention the mishap I had with the spray-on sunscreen. How is 30-50 SPF going to work if the wind blows it off your chubby body? So imagine me, first day out, with a VERY lobster-ish chest and
white-as-ghost preggie belly and legs. Then, the next day, flip it. My legs were the color of Satan's eyes while my chest was able to maintain it's normal level of redness. (side note: I'm assuming satan has red eyes. He wouldn't have pretty blues, right?)
I guess this is what happens when you go to the beach when you look like an albino. A beached whale albino, if you will.

I also like to mention that whenever I saw a little baby (really, baby boy) on the beach with his trunks and frog towel, I immediately burst into tears. I am such an emotional wreck. But I am just so excited to be a mother to this handsome little baby (un-named) boy!
So here are the pictures I stole from Casey. Again, all bikini belly shots have been stored away in the fat-girls vault.

Our patio, complete with hot tub and outdoor kitchen.

Me and Brett Zito. I have never envied his Italian skin more!
(and my stomach is not showing)
side note: Josie hated this hat. Hated it! But I personally think I was channeling B.Spears with it. "oh bay-bay bay-bay"

Me and my boyfriend. Love him.

The family. I love this picture. And Baby Lindley is excited for this photo, too!

Kenny Chesney Concert. That man loves the beach, the sand, and beer.
And he's like 3 feet tall.

Brett and Casey. Cute couple alert!

We had lots of great food and lots of fun, family time! Fun beach trip 2011! And the Lindleys made it home in 4 hours. Somehow I doubt that will happen next year with a 6 month old in the car.

In other news, I am going for my 20 week scan on Thursday. Please say prayers that Baby Lindley is healthy and happy. And that his parents can finally nail down a name.

A few of my favorite things

We just got back from the beach...and it was fabulous!
I will have to post about that later, because this momma didn't take a single picture. I am relying on Casey for all the cute family pics.

On to bambino and his wardrobe. See, he doesn't have a name on lock, but he already has an amazing wardrobe...full of smocked galore :)
Here are a few pictures of his soon-to-be room with his clothes layed out. Sometimes, I just like to sit in there and daydream. And we also have his crib...in the box.

His stockpile. This little one is loved.
(I spy a MSU onsie with the matching booties)

A few of the smocked sensations. He is going to be "best dressed" with his taxi cabs, noah's arc, and sailboats

My favorite: the taxi cabs. with buttons. i.die.

This was purchased at the beach. Baseball smocked. Joey was so proud.

That's all for now. I am tired, and can't be whitty at the moment.
More on the beach in the next post.

burnie.

I am now 18 weeks pregnant.
Me, almost 5 months pregnant. That sounds so strange to me. It really seems like yesterday, I saw that shocked look on Josie's face when I showed him that really faded second line (followed by 13 more very bright lines). Meanwhile, I was thinking that my eyes were obviously playing tricks on me.

I feel like this pregnancy has been a joy up to this point...I know that labor is hard, and it will just get harder from this point on. Try not to rain on my parade.
I feel like we have a one-up on men. We get to grow something that will turn into a baby. And then a child. And then an adult. My mind still hasn't quite wrapped around that fact. And really, I get emotional every time I think about it. My husband can't do that. He can't grow a baby...that means we are special. (but he would probably say he is the special one because he gets to miss out on all the labor stuff).

And I still think its crazy that I have a tiny tee-tee in my belly. He is a baby (un-named) boy and he has a tee-tee. Ha!

Let's talk about the bump. It is growing. I haven't stepped on a scale in awhile, but I'm sure I've never seen this number. And there is more to come. In my scrubs, I can almost get away with not being pregnant. They are just baggy enough that I can pass as a non-preggie. But when I get into my street clothes, BAM! There he blows. And I am either obviously pregnant, or obviously very intoxicated from the 18 pack beer-buffalo wing combo I just consumed. So picture me next week, on the beach, in my 2 piece. Yeah, you heard right, I'm rocking a bikini. No tankini for this girl. And next to me will be my brother's girlfriend, who is incredibly skinny and cute. Hopefully no one will think I'm her 18-pack drinking mom. Ha!

Sorry for this very random post. I have no other thoughts right now.

the graduate

Baby Lindley made his first trip to the great place of Starkville on Saturday.... to watch Brett Zito graduate from MSU!! It was such a fun day. And we are so proud of Brett! He had lots of family to come and watch him walk across that stage...and he did magnificient!

Here he is on the jumbo screen...he is cute.

The graduate.

Trish and Brett. Motherly love. Very proud moment for her.
And check out what he wrote on the hat!

Dad and son. Sweet moment.

Mom, dad, and graduate

Pregs and Brett

This is Brett's cute gf, Casey. She is really nice, too!
Take note: this is not a bump pic. And that is not my brazerre showing, its the lining of my regular maternity dress. Yes, I am in those dresses now.

It was a great weekend! And I found baby bedding. And a crib.
So Baby L has a place to lay his un-named head.
We are still working on that.

belated birthday party

We celebrated Carly Shandy's birth on March 26th. It was a fun night filled with crawfish, friends, and pictures. I stayed away from the crawfish because anything with a shell grosses me out.

This is the pretty birthday girl!

Carly and sweet Adda Laine

Look at this child. She is a dream!

And we got to see Lacey's ring. Isn't it gorgeous? Lane and Lacey are getting married in August

Brian's first crawfish...EVER! He is from South Carolina, but I consider him a yankee. He has never been hunting before, either (gasp)

And this is Joey trying to hide from the camera

Carly blowing out her birthday cupcake candles

Sweet girls. The upclose picture was cuter, but I looked preggier. And its my blog, so I win.

The damage has been done

This was the first batch cooking. Not sure how it got out of order

The boys. They are BFFs

It was a fun night to be had by all.

Love you, Carly!
