Letter to the editor: Friday edition

Dear Etsy,
Why are you so fabulous? I recently discovered your true value, and I have never looked back.
While you are amazing, I have spent waaaaay to much time and money on your site.
Hudson now owns 2 hats for newborn shots, a bow tie, and applique onsies with matching burps/bibs. Really? I have 3 showers planned and this child needs nothing else (related to cutsie stuff) from me. Bless his little baby-in-the-belly bones! I have also recently aquired hostess gifts and found some new calling cards from you. Bonus, found some thank you notes with Hudson's name on them with a whale. A very cute, baby blue whale.  Isn't that what every very small newborn needs... thank you notes/calling cards? He won't even write for several, several years. Insanity! Why must you do this to me? To my defense, the prices are so so good! And I love a handmade sensation! It might have to come to blocking you on my computer....but that seems alittle irrational.
For now, I will continue to browse, but not purchase from your site for a while. Please don't take this personal. Take care.
Love, Kristin and Hudson Lindley

truckin' along!

Hello 3rd trimester! Nice to meet you!
I am going to dominate you as we prepare for Hudson to make his arrival!

Oh, 3rd trimester, I hope you will be good to me.
Here are the things that have been happening or will soon to happen in this last phase of being a preggie:

1. I have officially mastered the waddle. I can walk semi-normal when going at normal pace, but when there is speed involved..... i.am.waddlin' (in Forrest Gump voice)
2. Eating like a champ. I am going for the gold on this one...I love food.
3. My glucose test is Thursday. I am slightly nervous about this. But my motto has been:
"A klondike bar a day, will keep the gestational diabetes away" Ha!
4. Maternity dresses. Loves them! I literally have not put on a pair of pants/shorts in 2-3 months. Dresses are my lifeline at this point.
5. Hudson's room is very close to being complete. The chair/ottoman is coming in soon, we are getting draperies made, and the wall art is coming together. I must say, his room is fit for a king!
5. I still have an inny belly button...now, it is getting more and more shallow, but still inny. And very proud of this fact. I don't know how long it will last, though.
6. This heat is dominating me. Enough said.
7. Joey has been such a sweet husband and supporting me throughout this big-girl time. I mean, I am large and in charge! Even though he watches me grow bigger on a daily basis, he keeps his comments to himself (i KNOW he has them. i would if i was him)
8. Hudson now has 2 homemade burp clothes. And they are sweet!
9. We are starting childbirth classes in August...we'll see how this goes! Poor Josie doesn't know what he's in for
10. This sweet baby is up all night! And if I get into a position he doesn't like, you better watch out...because he will let you know REAL quick.

To summerize, I love being pregnant. Loooooove it! I am already talking about baby Lindley #2. But for now, we are just counting down the weeks until this little one arrives...and we are just so excited!!
We are already in love with you, Hudson Lindley!

kindreds

Kindred spirits alert!
and kinda funny baby name story.

Kate Hudson just had a baby. She named her son Bingham Hawn Bellamy.
She is calling him "Bing" for short.

Kristin Lindley is having a baby in October. She plans to name her son Joseph "Hudson" Lindley.

BUT the original name I wanted to call him is Bingham.
Bingham is a very big family name. Its my mom's maiden name and my brother's middle name.
I loooove this name! I immediately went straight to it when we found out "it" was a "he".
But, sweet Josie, he turned me down.
Now, I don't hear NO too much from that man of mine. He is so laid back, that he normally just lets me have my way....and God love him for that! But he just straight up wasn't having Joseph Bingham. He was worried about the "Bing" thing, and honestly, I was too. I love Bingham, but I definitely don't love Bing. And that would be his obvious nickname. But I was going to push through it, fight for Bingham, and hopefully win.
Didn't happen. His foot was on the ground on this issue and it wasn't budging.

And we came to Joseph Hudson. And now, I wouldn't have it any other way.

So now, Kate Hudson has her Bingham
And Kristin has her Hudson.

again, kindred spirits.
I should text her...she would like to hear the connection :)

Have a great weekend!!

Success!

Update on the sewing front...

Ladies and gents, we have a burp cloth!

And not just a burp cloth, one that is sewn with semi-straight seams.
Get it, get it!

Also learned 2 more things today:
-how to change my needle to the machine after it breaks...TWICE
-how to re-thread the machine

I must admit, this was alot easier than making that bag. I think I will try again tom.
And no, this one is not for Hudson. I am aware that this is girl fabric. And Hudson is partial to blue.

Have a great weekend!

hobby lobby, part deux

Sewing class.

Last night, four brave girls started on a journey...a sewing journey.
We knew nothing about our machines.
What is a bobbin, and how do we thread this bobbin?
A true rags to riches story. We came with scrapes of fabric and left with a grocery bag.

The beginning of the process.

The end result. We are proud, and we I am swollen.
Liz and I.

And the star pupil of the evening...Wendy Creel, master sewer.
Her bag looked as good as the teacher's.

Speaking of teacher, I think we annoyed her all night with our non-abilities.
And the class ran an hour over...oops!

So, moral of the story is first sewing experience was partially successful! And fun!
My main purpose with this whole thing is to make burp cloths. Cute ones! So I will be practicing my techniques this weekend!

weekend fun

Lane and Lacey had their Mccomb couples shower a few weekends ago...
It was a lot of fun!

The sweet and fun couple!

Ok, lets talk about this cake. In my opinion, the best tasting cake (other than my wedding cake). I mean, I had 4 pieces. FOUR!  I know i'm preggie, but come on, Hudson...4 pieces of cake? Back to the real reason we are talking about this cake. It's real good, but REALLY ugly. Like you-ain't-got-no-aliby ugly! They couldn't throw in a ruffle or some pizzaz? And the next real shocker...it's from Sams. You heard it, Sams!
So next time you want a really good, really reasonably priced, really ugly cake...try them!

Opening all their fabulous loot!

My sweet Josie and me.

All the pretty girls.
Kristin, Johna, Lacey, Tara, Carly
I spy TWO preggies, name them!
(me at 23 weeks and 5 days)

And the boy hosts with the groom. These boys! Whenever they get together, trouble comes. Sometimes fun trouble, and sometimes it can get rowdy.

And they can't take a normal picture to save their lives.

Tara and sweet Adda Laine. I love this child. And we share a birthday weekend. We are forever bonded.

Joey and his Mom, Ms. Gail.
Soon to be, Nanna, to baby Hudson.

It was a really fun weekend! We can't wait for their wedding on August 6th.

sweet child of mine

I love his name!
Hudson Lindley

I got these blocks made for him...I.could.die... they are so sweet!
Let me know if you are interested in some for your sweet, little one. They are super reasonably priced and hand made with love!

Have a great 4th weekend!
Josie is heading to the beach for a bachelor trip. Hudson and I will be holding down the Lindley fort.
