weekend update

This weekend, I ventured to Greenwood, MS to see my sweet friend, Sloane. She is preggie. And the cutest preggie ever!! We had to shower Ms. Ryals with the sweetest baby gifts ever! Little Ryals will be here in April, and I can't wait to give that baby some sweet, baby sugar!

The preggie.

I am excited about this tot!

sweet diaper cake

all the fabulous gifts. one lucky little lady!

Up next, part of my gift. A sweet ruffle dress with pink polkadots. Really?
Do they have this in my size? with the ruffle bloomers? If so, sign me up!
Also in picture, Mrs. Gail (Sloane's mom), Callie (Sloane's BFF)

Last, sweet McCraw. He is a little angel. I would like to take him home in my pocket, please!

On Saturday night, we had Taste of the U. Its one of the hospital's big fundraisers, and it is SO MUCH FUN!
This year, our theme was ROCKIN REHAB. We went with the whole 50's theme and served sliders with fries and coke floats. Yummo!

Our diner booth! Complete with soda fountain, jutbox, and 50's dining chairs

Our sign to identify us. Yes, it is pretty cool!

Our homemade jutbox. Yes, we are so imaginative.

Coke float. We made that. Yes, we are crafty.

Soda Jerk Boys.

Some of the sock-hoppers. That's me in the pink poodle skirt. Me wearing pink? Go figure!

Melanie and John. Sock-hoppin parents to be.

Me and my work BFF, Alyssa (I mean, Florence). She's a cutie

And look who I ran into...my BFF Kelly! (I mean, the cat in the hat). Their theme was WhoVille and it was super cute!

And guess what? WE WON BEST PRESENTATION! Get it! Get it!
This is most of the gang with our cute trophy, and me holding a record. Throughout the night, that record was used as a fan and a tamporine. It was useful for both circumstances.

That is all for today. Two long posts on one day. Who am I?
Have a great day!

photography class 2

Hey! Happy Monday! Here are more images from my photography class. These were taken at the Natchez Trace yesterday. Most of the pictures are of my friend, Jana's baby, Natalie. She is such a doll!

little girl

notice how the background is blurry. low F-stop, ISO 100

Ms. Natalie

isn't she a gorgeous baby?

My friend Alicia and I. Her nanna took these pictures.

Jana and Natalie

Our instructor, Mr. Steve Colston. He is fabulous!
(again, notice the blurri-ness in the backgroud. this is intentional)

These last pictures were taken with a long angle lens and I am really pleased with them.
ISO 100, F-stop 5.6, shutter speed 1/160ish

So, the class was a big success! I learned alot about my camera. All the pictures I have posted were taken in manual, and I manipulated the settings to get the right lighting.
If anyone is interested in taking this class, leave me a comment and I can get you the info! It was definitely worth the money.

anti-ness

I wouldn't go as far to say I am anti-valentine's day. But I kinda am. I think its a another stupid holiday that is over commerialized. Yeah, I said it. But in the spirit of valentine's day and cupid and yada yada yada, I just wanted to say.....I love you sweet Joey Lindley.
You are my heart! I love you more than all the Coach bags and Louis Vuitton in all the land. (and that means alot). And i'm sure you love me more than all the deer and hunting stuff in all the land. (ha! a girl can dream).
Happy Valentine's day Josie!

Thoughts for Tuesday

Hello there. Happy Tuesday! About a million thoughts are passing through my head right now, but I will try to slow them down and channel a few for you...

1. Today is only Tuesday. When is the weekend coming?
2. Me and sweet Josie are celebrating Valentine's day on saturday night to avoid the crowds...yeah, we are those people!
3. I really want some pizza right now.
4. I started crying this morning in the shower for no apparent reason. Yeah, that's how I roll. Tears are normal around the Lindley household. So are eye-rolls from Joey. He thinks I'm crazy. ha!
5. Last week, I made an egg white and spinach omelet. It was the best thing since sliced bread to me. I might make another one tonight!
6. The super bowl party was fun! Pictures of that to come later!

So sorry for the randomness. My "channeling" powers aren't very good today. Have a great day!

Guss and his Valentine's haircut. He is presh!

birthday post

It's Johna' birthday today!!! She is a youngie, but I still love her. Johna is 24 today. Yippee! I met Johna when she was 19, I think. Joey lived with her brother, Ty, the year that we met. I actually met Johna about 4 days after I met sweet Josie...And we've been friends ever since. And now we are members the wives club together.

Funny things about Johna:
1. We had to sneak her into the bars in Starkville bc she was so young...Whiskey Blues turned the other cheek a time or two.
2. In the summertime, she can get so so dark. Like OOC dark.
3. She can read some books, that girl. And she does love a romance novel (the ones with the cheesy covers).
4. She loves my buffalo chicken dip
5. She looks in people's mouth for a living...and enjoys talking about teeth.
6. She paints her fingernails sometimes so she can chip it off a day later.
7. She will pick Harry Potter over Twilight any day of the week (I have tried to turn her several times)
8. She has never seen The Neverending Story (weird, hasn't everyone seen that movie?)
9. She just recently started wearing fun earrings...and I am loving it!
10. She can be a girlie-girl at times, but is also used to riding four wheelers and doing stuff with the boys (she grew up in the country)
11. She knows all the cool rap songs.
12. She looks at people.com and eonline.com several times a day, and I can always count of her for some good celebrity gossip.
13. She is a very frequent reader of this blog, but has never commented. Really?
14. When she got a Coach bag one year, she said "I like this bag, but I'm not sure what all these 'Cs' mean?" (she didn't know what Coach was..)
15. She likes to pick at her food when she is done eating.

Happy birthday Johna (birdie). You are such a great friend to me! I will leave you with a few pictures from our friendship...and most of these are old because I never upload pictures to fb.
