Have you seen my husband?

This weekend is the start of what I like to call the "dark months" around the Lindley household.
OPENING WEEKEND OF HUNTING.

Now in Joey's defense, he made it perfectly clear before we got married. "Now Kristin, I love you baby, but I also love to hunt...and I am going to be doing it every year.....FOREVER." Well, I added the "forever" part, but he might as well have said it because it's totally true. So this weekend is the start of bow season. And after bow season comes regular gun season. And after regular gun season comes muzzle-loader (a special gun that you can only use for 2 weeks) season. So basically my husband is disappearing every weekend until about February. This weekend is the start of it all. The only good thing that comes out of this is some goooood deer meat.

I would just like to say goodbye to "weekend Joey", because I won't see him much until around late January....you will be missed and I love you...and I guess I will have to squeeze all my quality time in with "weekday Joey"
ps, i will just have to drown my sorrows over the loss of "weekend Joey" at my favorite retail stores....hello shopping!

yippee

I am happy today.
First, Joey surprised me at work with my second wedding band. Just for fun! Yeh for bling. I have to drop it off today to get sized and saughtered to my other rings. He gets the "husband of the day" award for that. (he gets it alot of days, too)

Second, I found a new show that I'm liking...

Did anyone see this show? Courtney Cox is in it, and she kinda acts like Monica on Friends (and I looooved Friends). Anyways, it had some good humor and it was witty. Just another to add to my list of shows that I like.

Have a great day!

ps, Grey's Anatomy comes on tonight!

Obession Alert!

I found this on one of the Twilight blogs I stalk...and thought it was pretty amazing. Maybe one of my few readers likes it as much as I do. New Moon comes out only 2 months from today!!

Rant

Kayne West is an ass. Bottom line. (sorry to use such strong language, but it is truely necessary here). Last night we also got a sneak peak of the NEW New Moon trailor...so good! And look at the chemistry between these two.

I thought this Twilight obsession would go away, but it just hasn't. So my husband and the few of you that read this silly blog, will just have to hear about all the Twilight related info. :)

And I hope my hubs feels better, because he might have some sort of flu.
I hate to say Swine Flu because I hate the word swine or anything swine-ish sounding.
We'll just say he might have "the other" flu.
Happy Monday!

birth month, I mean week, I mean day.

So my birthday was fabulous, although I was a sickie (see previous post). For those who know me, I like to make a big deal about my birthday. And I also like all those around me to make a big deal about it as well. I trained Joey early on in our relationship about this birthday thing...he thinks its over-the-top, but HELLO??? Let's be honest, I am over-the-top and I don't think I'm fooling anyone if I try to pretend I'm not. Back to the birth week, I went out to dinner 6 out of the 7 nights that week. And I took some pictures to document these fun times:

Monday night. P.F. Changs. We went out for our neighbor Brian's birth. It was hard for me to let it be his birthday, but I did it. haha! I still pretended it was mine, only secretly though.

Tuesday night. Sushi. Dinner with Joey. I love him.
Wednesday night. Bonefish. With my parents. Love them too.

Thursday night. Pan Asia. Half price martinis. Dinner with my Phi Mu ladies. We like to get together as much as possible, and a birthday is a great excuse! I really do love this group of women and when we get together, it is like we are back in college. And we looooove to tell story about our glory days. That's right, we are officially Phi Mu has-beens.

Friday night. (The actual day of birth). The Bulldog. Lots and Lots of full priced drinks. Bourbon and diet. With Joey,Tyler, Carly, Jay and Brian. I was determined to go out even though I really didn't feel good.

Saturday night. Booger and Johnny's wedding in Mccomb. Beautiful wedding and beautiful couple. Open Bar at reception always equals fun times. (I kinda sound like I have an alcohol problem, but I really don't). Even Edward Cullen wanted to wish my a happy birthday. It even had a song from Twilight when you opened it. Thanks Alyssa for the great card!! Disregard the chubby face.

So, needless to say, I had a great week...and I am blessed to have so many amazing people in my life to share my festivities with.
So I also thought I would share some of my presents. Since we just moved into a new house, I thought it would be good opportunity to get some of the higher priced items we needed (or wanted) as gifts. That's right, I think on my feet.
Joey got me these lovely accent chairs...

And I got myself (with Joey's permission) this AMAZING painting and lamps for the foyer from my new favorite store, IO Metro. The painting is HUGE, even though it doesn't look like it in this picture. love it!

Also, this accent chair for our master bedroom...love it too!

And I ordered silk drapes for the dining room today..but those take 4-6 weeks to come in because they are custom. Happy birthday to me!

In conclusion, thank you everyone that made my birthday special. Because it really was the best 2nd 25th birthday ever! And I will leave you with a recent portrait of my children.

sniffles

So when you work in a hospital, you tend to get come in contact with alot of sickies. Some sickies are sick and they know it, and some sickies are secret sickies and have no idea. And by sickies I mean giving anyone they come into contact with some sort of bacteria that can turn into cough, sneezes, sore throat, runny nose, and sniffles. Well since I haven't been working that long, my immune system isn't used to fighting these sickies. And this means I get sick (hence the title, sniffles). I was sick on my day of birth, and my weekend of birth for that matter. It was amazing but I was still fighting the sickness (I will post pictures of the weekend soon). Moral of story is sickies treating sickies is no fun.

ps: how many times can I say sickies in one post?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend!

This is my friend Alicia. Today is her day of birth. She is a doctor in training and it takes up all her time. She was my roommate in the Phi Mu house. She is OCD, loves to color coordinate her calender with different color highlighters, and she talks really high pitched when she gets nervous. She made fun of me when we first met, and we turned into best friends. I love her. Happy birthday leash! and I am still mad that you are a whole year younger than me :(

(doesn't she look like a model in this picture? I am at work and I don't have any pics of us on my work computer)

found one! oldie, but goodie
