That's what she said

So me and Joey have a new love... THE OFFICE. Where have we been for the last 6 seasons? I was first introduced to The Office on our girls beach weekend in October. And I hated it. The humor is different and it takes some getting used to. But I stuck with it, and now we are totally obsessed. Joey got me the first 5 seasons on DVD during Thanksgiving and we have watched it like 3 times since. From start to finish. Now, we haven't caught up with the newest season, but I do know what's going on.

Love it!

And this might sound weird, but I love Dwight K. Schrute, of Schrute Farms. "FACT:" He is so funny!

And Pam and Jim make me so happy. Joey makes fun of me because I get so involved and laugh at the dumb stuff. Yes, I know they are not real people, but this is some funny stuff.
That is all. Have a good day!

Ps, The Lindleys had a great Christmas spending time with family and with lots of wonderful gifts. I will post about that later...I just wanted to declare my love for The Office while I was thinking about it. (But not quite as much as I love Twilight...who I am kidding? Not even close!)

Merry Christmas Part Deux

Hello again. Back so soon, you say? Well I just wanted to go over a few things before I take a holiday break from blogging to enjoy Jesus and Santa Claus (and Jesus is definately more important than Santa Claus)...but who doesn't love to give and receive gifts? First I will start with our Christmas card... drum roll please... (like you really care)

For some reason when the picture got scanned in, it chopped Joey's head off...I assure you that its not really like that in the actual card (again, like you really care). Isn't that sweet Josie cute?? I just loooove him!

Next, I went to Pinelake's Christmas program Best Gift. Man was it amazing!!!! I mean, I am catholic, and I grew up doing the whole catholic thing...but this program made me want to stand up and sing during the program. (and that is a very uncatholic thing since my church is very non-contemporary....I'm not hating on being a catholic, but it is different from a Baptist church for sure!) Anyways, back to this amazing program. Did I mention it was AMAZING? I really felt the power of the Lord and I'm sure everyone else did too. I also cried like a small child the whole time....I am so emotional. My cousin Jessica sang in the choir and my work BFF and fellow DPT, Alyssa sang a solo! She was amazing and everyone who performed was amazing. It is easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas around this time, and Pinelake definately reminded me that HE is the reason for the season. That sweet little baby boy.

This is my friend Alyssa doing her solo thing....She did so so good!!! Literally brought me to tears with her song "Christmas makes me cry"

Lastly, on Saturday night we went to a tacky Christmas party at our couple BFFs Zach and Tara's house. It was so so fun!! So last year, I invested in a tacky Christmas sweater. It was originally 90 bones, but I got it on major sale. So I decided I would wear it to every party I can for the next 5 years. Anyways, we had dance party in their garage and our friend Mitch played alittle. (He also played at our wedding, by the way). The boys played several intense games of flippy cup, while the ladies enjoyed the garage dance floor. We also played dirty santa with a gift under $5. We ended up with chocolate covered pretzels (thanks Shandys) that Joey proceded to devour on sunday during our movie day. Here are some pictures of the evening.

The tacky ladies

The tacky men

Me and that sweet Joey at the garage dance party...notice the intense look on my face!

So I think that is it for now...I hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! (if I don't get to post before then)

ps, just wanted to give a shout out to acouple of my blog friends for a sec.
Rachel and her husband are in New York right now on a mission trip. They are feeding the homeless and telling everyone about the Glory of God. I think that is amazing! We are praying for you!
Missy and Thomas are moving back to Jackson! Yeh!!! I have missed my DPT friend.
Alison and Mark have bought a boat. A very big boat. This has been their plan for awhile and I will let her share that part. But we are very excited for them!

Merry Christmas Part one

Hey there! Sorry it has been awhile...my last post was about New Moon (and I am still loving that movie). Anyways, we have been having a wonderful holiday season. I figured I would make this a two poster because there is alot to talk about and I don't have time to do it all today. First, I thought I would post some pictures of our house with the Christmas decorations.

Here are the cute things my mom made for our front doors. They were selling these at Mistletoe for $120 each and we made them for ALOT cheaper than that! Love them!

Our fabulous Christmas tree! 11 feet of pure joy!!! haha. I had to talk Josie into this purchase, but I figure we will use it for many years to come.

Another view of our tree with the dining room table.

The mantle. Our stocking are from Pottery Barn (and notice that Guss and Riley have mini stockings).
I also ordered a couple more for little future bambinos (and that means babies...but not anytime soon!)

The side board by the front door. Also known as the table that holds "the book," aka our wedding album

And that ends the Christmas decorations portion of the post.

Next up, I had a Christmas party/cookout for my friends from work. Yeh for physical therapists! I am so glad they were able to come all the way to Canton. Most of them live in Jackson and they like to joke that Canton is so far away....So Josie was the grill master for hamburgers and hotdogs and we snacked on some yummy appetizers.

From left to right. Melanie, Susan, Ellen, Misti, me, Wendy, and Ashley

Lastly, acouple of weeks ago, me and my favorite Phi Mu ladies headed to Vicksburg for our annual Christmas Party at Lindsey's house. We had so much fun!!! We played dirty santa and then went to a local bar to dance the night away...like old school Cheers style (if you don't know what Cheers was in Starkville, you missed a great time). Thanks Linds for hosting our party this year. It was so much fun! And thanks to my wonderful Phi Mu friends who are so fabulous! I am so glad to have found this group of women and so lucky to have these best friends. (and we missed the great girls that couldn't make it this year)

We were shaking our tail feather...haha!

And in honor of the girls that couldn't make it this year, this is our annual party picture from last year at my old house.

Up next is a youtube link. I posted awhile back about the Ole Miss Rave they had at the library in Oxford? Remember? Anyone? I guess that's a no. Anyways, well that wonderful school in Starkville had a rave in Mitchell Memorial. Man I wish they would have done that when we were there.

Longest post in history. Sorry about that. But don't worry, there will more than likely be another one tomorrow bc we are going to a tacky Christmas party tonight and I'm sure there will be some eventful pictures. Have a great saturday!

NEW MOON MANIA

So ask me what I did on Thursday night at 12:00 am. Go ahead, ask me! While most of you were dreaming soundly in their beds, me and my dearest co-worker and friend Alyssa had a date with Edward Cullen. That's right, Edward Cullen. I am in an intimate relationship with him (sorry Josie). Me and Alyssa have been looking forward to this for soooo long, and I've had the tickets for atleast 2 months. And if you are a true follower of my blog, you'd know I've had a new moon countdown since March. That's right, I'm hardcore.
So, we arrived at the theater at 10:45 pm to find a LONG line of twi-13 year olds, some twi- mid-ish 20 something women (it is sad that I am in that category now), and some twi-moms. This thing brings all ages together. So we had to have a short photoshoot with our date for the evening...

He gave me a welcome icy-cold kiss (get it, vampire?)

He was distracted by all the screaming girls, he couldn't look at the camera

So we fought the crowds and ran into our theater to get the best seats. See, I put alot of thought into our seating situation. We figured it would be best to sit in the middle, but on the end...some of the girls can get out of control and we didn't want to get trampled. If something were to go arye (like people figuring out that Edward is REALLY into me and not them), then we would have a easy get away....always thinking ahead.

So we grab our seats first and have a quick photo session...

Yeah for midnight showings...and fighting back the yawns while we wait an hour for the movie to start

So excited...and we just can't hide it!

So, like I said, it was a LONG hour to wait...we were getting pretty ancy. I even had a few a SQUEEEEs because I was so excited.... then, the lights dimmed. And it was time.

Approximately 2 hours and 1 minute later, it was over. And it was a glorious 2 hours and 1 minute. Full of laughes and almost tears (I am alittle emotional about this movie...and the books....well anything related to "the saga" really).  It was so good that Josie is taking me on a date on Sunday night, and what will we do? Well I think that we'll go to the movies. To see the blind side? Nope! Hello New Moon squared. I plan to see it atleast 2 more times....and maybe even more. Call me 13 years old, I don't care. I am loving every minute of it!

ps, 220 days until Eclipse....let that countdown begin!

Amazed and tired

NEW MOON IS AMAZING! I am so happy that we went to the midnight showing, but i am feeling it this morning. I will blog later, complete with pictures and details about our evening being a 13 year olds.
For now, I'll leave you with this.....

strike a pose

So last weekend, Joey and I took our annual Christmas card photos. I am pretty hardcore about these pictures, and ALOT of planning went into them. But Joey threw me for a loop at the 9th hour when he walked out 5 minutes before we were about to leave in a shirt we did not talk about...and refused to change. He can be such a diva sometimes. haha! Anyways, the photographer was great and we had alot of fun...and Joey's "surprise" shirt actually looked good! Here are some of the shots. I am not going to show the one we have chosen for the actual card....not yet atleast :)

I like this one...

And I really like this one

And she took some silly ones of me for her website...

I know I don't look like a model, but I can't say I don't love getting my picture taken.
Should the Lindley's send out all holiday cards?
Happy Vetern's Day, Love the Lindleys?
Happy Groundhogs Day, Love the Lindleys?
No? ok, well then we will just stick with Christmas for now.

Anyways, they did a great job!!! And they had great prices...I will definately be using them in the future!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

ps, I would just like to say THANK YOU JOEY for not making too big of a fuss about getting our picture taken for 2 hours. He said it reminded him of our wedding day (when our photographer stayed for 12, I repeat, 12 hours to capture every  moment of our day)...not quite Joey, but you did great!!! And we even got a couple with that sweet smile of yours :) love you!

OMG!!! I DIE!

Looky what I found...The Eclipse NEW teaser poster
SQUEEEEEEE!!!

Countdown to the New Moon midnight showing = 14 days! Who's ready?

Halloween and such...

Happy Fall everyone!! Or should I say Merry Christmas, because Christmas stuff is EVERYWHERE. Me and Trish (my mom) shopped until we dropped today at Mistletoe Marketplace in Jackson. So much fun!! We got alot of great things (clothes, jewelry, christmas stuff, MSU stuff), but we also got alot of ideas for my house because Trish is real crafty...and we can make some of it for cheap! Too bad I didn't inherit that gene, or the cleaning gene for that matter. Anyways, here is last week's recap

We spend Halloween at Joey's coworker's house. And for this party, your costume had to start with the letter "P" So I give you..... the Principal on Probation and his star Pupil... haha!!!

Luckily, Principals don't smile too much...and neither does Joey (in pictures). He had a paddle that doubled as a shot glass and my pin star said "star student." I wore my hair in pigtails, and I will use any excuse to wear it like this...halloween is always an important one. I got my plaid skirt from walmart via the Miley Cyrus collection. I had an old one that was used for swaps, but it was way too short...did I actually wear that out of the house? Yes, indeed I did. In college, swaps = time to skank it up (but that is a whole other blog).  Here are some other pictures from the evening....

All of Joey's coworkers (the Pitchman, the Pope, the Pilot, the Pilgram, and the Principal)
 they were so fun!

Me and the newly engaged Policewoman

Next, OUR CURTAINS CAME IN!!! finally. Those 5 year old children in India must have been working hard for the last 2 months because they look great!! Tara came over and helped us install them. She is pretty crafty herself (again, wish I had that gene).

Oohhhhh Ahhhhhhh

Loves it! I kind of closed them to illustrate that now, no one can see in at nighttime (Joey was just convinced we had peeping toms because we made it so easy for them)

This is an upclose picture of the pattern...its called Gold Medallion something

And these are my Fall wreaths...and look who is a "pick-a-boo" little Riley Lindley

Lastly, I saw this on "Flipping Out" and I want one. Santa? If I am on the good list can I have one?

It just zooms around and picks up the dirt...such a smart little piece of technology

THIS WEEKEND: We are taking our Christmas card photos. As some of you know, I am pretty hardcore about our Christmas card. Joey, on the other hand, could care less and this little session almost turned into a fashion shoot with just me. He was refusing to go, but then I put on my best pout face and now he's in....the pout face always wins! Anyways, we are meeting our photographer for some cute, action shots. I will post more about it after this weekend!!!

Have a happy day!

Another one bites the dust!

This is my BFF Lizzy. She recently got engaged and is a new bride-to-be!!!! We are so excited for her and Woody and looking forward to May 1, 2010. Lizzy was my maid of honor in our wedding, and I am so happy to be sharing her special day with her as a bridesmaid. Can't wait for the festivities to begin.

Have a great weekend! I'll post later about our Halloween weekend. Boo!

Beach Bunnies (or penguins)

So while my friends are having fun in Starkville, I am blogging. Fun times. Here is a recap of the last week:

Last weekend Lexie, Kelly, and I went for a quick girls weekend in Orange Beach. We had a great time full of shopping (lots and lots and lots of it), eating, and watching movies. We even watched a couple episodes of The Office...funny show in a dry, dirty kind of way. "You have won a tiny Dun-dy"
The one thing we didn't expect...IT WAS FREEZING. Hence the title, beach penguins. But we did get the opportunity to see a cute, old man in a speedo...now that was entertainment. Here are some photos of our weekend.

So happy to be at the beach...in our sweatshirts

Look at that height with me in the pink hoodie

US at the Original Oyster House. Yum!

Next was Joey's Birthday celebration at Buffalo Wild Wings on Thursday night. Joey turned 27 on Friday. Happy birthday Joeybear...I love you so so much!

I couldn't get a good group shot with everyone in one picture. The boys are Joey's bests friends from high school...and the ladies are all the wives who are now BFFs.
For his birthday, Joey has been collecting things over the last couple of weeks (presents from me, from himself, and from our parents): a new scope for his gun, a pair of hunting boots, a new safety harness, a cooler for deer meat *notice a trend with these presents?  And some non-hunting related items: new tennis shoes and some polo shirts.

So Friday night, we went to eat at the Crab Shack in Jackson... it was really good and its one of the few places around here that serve really good seafood. On Saturday, Joey's dad is coming to spend the night with us for some father-son bonding time. And on Sunday, his mom and sister are coming for an early afternoon cookout.

Tonight we are watching the Bulldogs play...GO DAWGS! We will be keeping our fingers crossed.

Have a happy weekend!

Letter to the editor

Dear New Moon soundtrack,

You just came out, and I have one question for you: Will you be as good as the Twilight soundtrack? I thought the world of the Twilight soundtrack and listened to it for 3 months straight. Will I do the same with you? You seem to have some good bands like Death Cab, Ok Go, and The Killers, but will I really LOVE you like the other one? Will I found that one song that I still obsess over, like Eyes on Fire? I guess I will find out this afternoon when I purchase you...I am really hoping for the best. As you know, I pretty much love anything Twilight related so I hope that this doesn't disappoint. And my plan is to know every word to every song by the time the movie comes out. Can't wait to meet you this afternoon.

Love,
Kristin Lindley

3. I shop at forever21.com atleast once a week...its an addiction
4. I am looking for some classic fall boots
5. Kelly, Lexie, and I are heading to the beach this weekend for a girls getaway...totally excited about it!

Have a wonderful day!

Have you seen my husband?

This weekend is the start of what I like to call the "dark months" around the Lindley household.
OPENING WEEKEND OF HUNTING.

Now in Joey's defense, he made it perfectly clear before we got married. "Now Kristin, I love you baby, but I also love to hunt...and I am going to be doing it every year.....FOREVER." Well, I added the "forever" part, but he might as well have said it because it's totally true. So this weekend is the start of bow season. And after bow season comes regular gun season. And after regular gun season comes muzzle-loader (a special gun that you can only use for 2 weeks) season. So basically my husband is disappearing every weekend until about February. This weekend is the start of it all. The only good thing that comes out of this is some goooood deer meat.

I would just like to say goodbye to "weekend Joey", because I won't see him much until around late January....you will be missed and I love you...and I guess I will have to squeeze all my quality time in with "weekday Joey"
ps, i will just have to drown my sorrows over the loss of "weekend Joey" at my favorite retail stores....hello shopping!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

yippee

I am happy today.
First, Joey surprised me at work with my second wedding band. Just for fun! Yeh for bling. I have to drop it off today to get sized and saughtered to my other rings. He gets the "husband of the day" award for that. (he gets it alot of days, too)

Second, I found a new show that I'm liking...

Did anyone see this show? Courtney Cox is in it, and she kinda acts like Monica on Friends (and I looooved Friends). Anyways, it had some good humor and it was witty. Just another to add to my list of shows that I like.

Have a great day!

ps, Grey's Anatomy comes on tonight!

Obession Alert!

I found this on one of the Twilight blogs I stalk...and thought it was pretty amazing. Maybe one of my few readers likes it as much as I do. New Moon comes out only 2 months from today!!

Rant

Kayne West is an ass. Bottom line. (sorry to use such strong language, but it is truely necessary here). Last night we also got a sneak peak of the NEW New Moon trailor...so good! And look at the chemistry between these two.

I thought this Twilight obsession would go away, but it just hasn't. So my husband and the few of you that read this silly blog, will just have to hear about all the Twilight related info. :)

And I hope my hubs feels better, because he might have some sort of flu.
I hate to say Swine Flu because I hate the word swine or anything swine-ish sounding.
We'll just say he might have "the other" flu.
Happy Monday!
