good day...

Its a good day to be a Zito! A Brett Zito, to be exact!

Happy Happy birthday to my only favorite brother! He is 25 today. Quarter of a century...where has the time gone?
AND he is starting his new job today.
Great day for this boy!

birthday boy...in the penalty box in the back of the tahoe.
me and casey laughed so hard at this.

Five things you need to know about Brett:
1. He is so laid back....especially compared to his super neurotic sister
2. I have NEVER met a person that does not like this boy. He is friends with everyone!
3. He is such a home-body....he likes to go on vacation, but that boy loves to be around the house, too!
4. His girlfriend, Casey, is super amazing and we love her!
5. He is a country boy at heart. Loves to be at the lake.
6. (one to grow on) He wants a dog so bad, he can taste it. But for now, he treats Riley girl as his own.

Tonight, we are going to Biaggi's to eat. Pregs is super excited about this one.
Happy birthday, Brett Bingham Zito.
Joey, Hudson, and I love you so!

Now, I want to selfishly point out 2 things:
- If Brett is turning 25, how old does that make me? You guessed it... 247. I am feeling old!
- Speaking of feeling old, since today is Brett's big day, that means mine is right around the corner... cough, September 4th, cough. DON'T FORGET.

Next, we had a fabulous couple's shower on Saturday night...got lots of things we needed!

Here is a sneak peak of one of our gifts...and the special helper that assisted us.

More on the weekend in the next post
Happy monday!

baby carson

Welcome to the world,
Carson Michael Shive!

You are the sweetest thing ever! And with a full head of hair! I've only met you once, but I hope to change that very soon!

At the hospital...loving being swaddled

Just chilling, Look at that hair!
I love this picture so much!

And his mom, Jessica is doing great, too! She is going to be a wonderful mother.
I am so thankful we get to share this special time, and I can't wait for our baby boys to grow up together!!

In other news, I am out of control with Hudson's nursery. Like OOC! Joey says I'm driving him crazy, and I say I'm nesting. Bless Joey, Trish, and Tara for listening to me obsess about this stinkin nursery...I am ready to have it perfect and done. I originally had a deadline of August 31st...and I don't think I'm making it. But this nursery will be done not too far past that time.
And yes, Hudson DOES care if he has the perfect distressed frame or banner precisely placed in his room. He is his mother's child, of course.

6.5 weeks and counting, people! Wowzers!

always a bridesmaid...

Last weekend, we showered Alyssa with a Pampered Chef party.
Now, this wasn't JUST a PC party, but it was a PC party: Bridesmaid style!
We were told to wear a bridesmaids dress...and you know I love a theme. Any other time in my life, I would have just pulled out the 15 dresses I have in my closet. But since I am chubby  pregnant, this was a more difficult task. I ended up finding a dress that was a much larger size than I was used to....and it fit. But I am telling myself that it only fit in the belly region.

Back to the shower...It was so much fun! Alyssa made a PC wishlist with all her items she wanted and we could pick what we wanted to buy her. Love this idea!

Pretty bride-bridesmaid!

Work BFFs

Pampered Chef instructor doing her thing!

27 dresses.
Ya'll, this was LOTS of girls in LOTS of bridesmaids dresses...and 3 of them were mine!
Of course, you know pregs called dibs on the couch

Next, I felt it appropriate to have a pregnant bridesmaid maternity shoot...via iphone.
You don't have to tell me, I know I am chubby. What I really should have included was a picture of my belly with the heart symbol made with my hand....
KIDDING! this girl will not be par-taking in that ridiculousness.

And in case the far away version wasn't enough, I got an up-close for you!
Me at 31 weeks 6 days
I must admit, I didn't mind wearing that dress...maybe it was the pinkness of it all? If I was still pregs at halloween, I would definitely wear this and be 'bloated pepto-bismal'. I think I could get top 5 with this! ha!

Next, my lastest sewing adventure...appliques! This is Hudson's first mommy-made onsie with an "H" in a cute, boy fabric. And let me just tell you...sewing with a onsie is not easy. I'm lucky that thing is not all sewn together in a ball. Stitches are alittle off and I am still trying to master the turn-and-sew technique (totally made that lingo up).  First attempt, though. It can only go up from here.
Hudson, I made these with the best of intentions, so you can not make fun of them.

Have a fabulous day! And get out of this heat!

work pregs

Happy Friday to you!

Which work preggie will pop next?
This is me at 29 weeks and 2 days.
I have grown since this time.... (cough) understatement!

Abby (next to me) has sweet Miller Lee Blackburn on July 30th.
Mary Linley and Melanie are coming up next. It's just a waiting game at this point!

Have a super fun weekend!
Please continue to keep all the cute preggies and babies out there
(including Hudson Lindley) in your prayers.

Updates!

Hello! How are you? I am ok.
I just almost gave birth at Walmart...that place makes me crazy. Joey was informed after I got home that I no longer was going grocery shopping without him. I am on strike. Grocery strike, if you will.
Ok, off my rant now. Going to my happy place...klondike bars, smocked outfits, rubbing of the feet....ok, I'm there.

Here has been what's going on in no particular order

Hudson's first shower. IT.WAS.FABULOUS.
My friends really out-did themselves. Head on over to my BFF, Jamie's blog to see the full pictures. Hudson and I got some really great things! I think we got a great mix of cutsie and practical items.

Me with sweet Hudson's banner.
This will definitely be making an appearance at the hospital!
(me at 29 weeks 5 days)
Cupcake toppers with his monogram and name!

The hostesses! Love these girls!

My family! Such supportive people and wonderful grandmothers, aunts, and cousins for baby Hudson!

Me and Jessica. She is 6 weeks ahead of me. We can't wait to meet baby Carson very soon!

Up next, Lane and Lacey's wedding in Mccomb this past weekend
We are so excited for this couple. Lane and Lacey are great for eachother! And now, they are having a blast in Jamaica.

The couple leaving for the reception...this is the best I can do. My camera was not operational that night.

Me and AP at the wedding. She is growing like a weed! She will be ONE next month...that is craziness to me! Someone else shares her birthday weekend....who could that possibly be?

The beautiful bride! She was perfect!

Lastly, this is one of Hudson's smocked sensations. And if you look closely, this is not bambi, but a masculine 10-point.
It is perfect for winter and daddy's big hunter. I can't wait for him to wear this...should I get Joey a matching smocked one-all? I think so!

I have been filling my other time with the following:
-Finishing up the nursery
-Staying out of this dreadful heat
-Nesting: my idea of nesting is wanting to get EVERY item that is needed for Hudson. I am told to wait until after my showers...and this is getting very difficult!
-Hugging Joey
-growing out of my scrubs
-Sewing burp clothes
-Spending time with friends
-Getting fat
-Watching movies
-Still loving every minute of being pregnant

That is all. I am tired and need some food. Have a great night!
9 weeks to go! I dream every night about that sweet face!

shark week!

Shark week has begun
(and I don't even watch shark week, and this post has no purpose)

I saw this picture on yahoo a few days ago...
All I can say is WOWZERS!

This is a whale shark about to eat a person. Now, the article tells us that whale sharks don't normally eat people, but he looks like he's about to take a bite.
A big bite! And we are definitely not talking about sweet Nemo here.
But they say he is nice.

But this is the reason for this posting: Look at the size of that thing! Hugeness. There are things floating around in the ocean this size....just hanging out.

But my question is this: If we know that there are things this big floating around, how big is the stuff we don't know about? The things that live at the bottom of the ocean...like where the Titanic lives? Like the things that God just doesn't want us to discover at this time...
I can only imagine the size.

And don't think they don't exist.
Aliens and house-sized fish...they are out there.

(And I am not a crazy alien person, but you can't tell me that we are the only planet in all of the galaxies/universes/etc with some sort of life on it. bottom line)

Happy Shark Week!
Next post will include the AMAZING baby shower thrown for Hudson this past weekend.
