Barnes at ONE month

On April 18th, we celebrated ONE month with our BonusbabyBarnes! And what a sweet, blurry month it has been! Barnes has already owned his spot as the baby of the family, because this sweet boy is already spoiled rotten. He loves to be held or in the carrier... If mommy is holding me he's happy. This has proven to be difficult bc to I have two other small children. But we are working on putting him down :)

Things about Barnes at ONE month:
-Nursing every 3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night. He does enjoy nursing which makes me happy. If I don't do anything else right with allmybabies, I know I can handle the breastfeeding.
-Still sleeping a good bit during the day. Loves to sleep on mommy, but has started taking naps in swing and pod. Still no crib. Loves a swaddle to sleep. Miracle blanket for the win at nighttime!
-Doesn't love to be flat on his back, which makes putting him down difficult. We do some tummy time on my chest.
-At his two week checkup, big boy weighed 8 lbs 7 oz. He is by far my biggest child. It still surprises me to look at those chunky cheeks! Can't wait to see how much he weighs at his six week checkup.
-Wearing newborn diapers, but starting to transition to size ones. He is in kissy kissy/paty gowns during day and night bc it's just easy right now. Plus, I'm not ready to put him in big boy clothes.
-He's been several places and out shopping me with many times! When we found out I was pregnant, I pretty much got used to the fact that he'd be my sidekick for awhile. I don't feel comfortable leaving him with sitter yet (I've left him with family for about 2 hours so far) and he won't start MMO with the big kids until he's 15 months. The goal is to hire a sitter to watch him 1-2 times a week in the mornings, but we are still months away from that. So he's learning to be a go-with-the-flow child.... And a work in progress at that.
-He's also starting to get used to being poked and protted by Hudson and Sissy. Hudson understands gentle for the most part, but Lillian does to get all up on him and poke (points) out his eyes, nose and mouth. Bless him, again, we're trying to learn a go with the flow attitude.
-He's definitely not my chillest child (I'm looking at you baby Lillian), but he's not as OOC as Hudson was as a baby. So somewhere in the middle. It would have been nice to have Sissy's baby demeanor (and I say baby bc her toddler demeanor is crazytown), but he really is a sweet child! Just alittle high maintenance like his mommy :)

I tried on this sweet bubble and immediately took it off. He's just not ready!

Sweet bonus baby Barnes, we love you so much! I can't even imagine this life without you and it's only been a month. You are the sweetest, most special surprise gift I have ever received. And I thank God daily for you and for our family of five! Happy one month, my love!
