I was having a hard time dividing my time.... Still am, really. When you nurse, you have to pretty much go all in for it to work. I've always said, if you aren't 100% committed to it, then it probably won't be a long term thing. Which that is every mother's choice. And I chose to nurse my babies. But when you do that, it take a lot of time and your other baby (sweet Hudson) gets to spend lots of time with daddy.
One of Hudson's first moments with Lillian. He pets her and we say "gentle"

Wrapped up like a pap-use

Looking just like her big brother!

Anyways, when we got home on a Friday, we had to return to UMC on Monday for weight check and bilirubin levels. When Lillian was born, we noticed that she had a olive like skin tone. Still does. That's the zito in her. But she also had jaundice. Typically normal for breastfed babies.
On Monday, we didn't get good news. Her bili levels were elevated and if they didn't descend in 24 hours, she would have to be admitted for light therapy. Correction, we would be admitted. I was not going to send my child back up there without me. Bottom line.
Waiting on our results.
The only good thing that day was her weight. She was up to birthweight, 6 lbs 7 oz.

First time with both babies in the car.

That afternoon, we let sister sun bath. Anything to avoid getting re-admitted.

So we went back on Tuesday, and her levels had descended! Praise The Lord! She still looked yellow-ish, but it was trending down.
Very alert!

Sometimes the swing allows for me to get a few things done.

On Wednesday October 23rd, Lillian was one week old...on daddy's birthday!! And we had our newborn session with Jana! Love her!

Happy birthday daddy!!!

Family of four!!

Joey is so funny sometimes! He gets real serious about Lillian having her "stretchy time" after I nurse. He worries she's not moving enough.

Watching brother play puzzles!

Watching brother outside! The Lindley girls love a selfie.

And this about sums it up. Add crazy Hudson to a photo op and things get real.

Kiki to the rescue!

Milk drunk.

Kiki and her Lillian. Lillian is my mom's mom namesake.
(Did I use that term correctly?)

The first week at home basically consisted of: 3 trips to UMC, lots of nursing, huge boobs, chasing brother, and forgetting to do daily activities like eating and using the bathroom.
Even though I've done this before, it takes a minute to get your barrings again. We are all learning together!
