Let's have a vain moment, shall we? I'd like to speak to you about something very vaininess? Yes, I can be vain and yes, I just made up the word "vaininess." Don't be jelly!
How many times can I say the word vain?
When I got pregnant with Hudson, I knew that my body would change during the pregnancy and probably never be the same. I had somewhat mentally prepared myself for that. And this body, it did not disappoint.

While most things have gone back to their appropriate locations, some things will just never be the same. And for memory sake, I'd like to tell you about them!
And I promise to not get real graphic here...
First, we have the hair loss.
When Hudson was around 3 months, I started noticing that my hair would fall out alot in the shower. Like HUGE gobs of wet hair. Yes, really gross. And yes, it freaked me out. After googling and googling, I read that this was perfectly normal. Apparently, your hair doesn't fall out much during pregnancy. So after the baby pops out, your noggin has some catching up to do. And it comes out in handfuls! This doesn't happen to everyone, but it definitely got me. Now, I have pretty thick hair. And this really wasn't a problem, and I never felt a difference. Until now...
All this hair is falling out, so what must happen next? It must grow back, right?
And it has come back as little, tiny hairs attacking my forehead. I have a little forehead anyways, like midget size. So now it looks like I have little spider legs coming out the top of my head.
NOT attractive!
Next, the belly button. (BB for short).
I wrote about a letter to my belly button here
My stomach is back to normal. I might even added an ab or two. But this BB, this BB. I'm an innie and remained an innie while I was pregnant. And after the baby came out, that button seemed to get deeper. And I thought it would sink back in as the weight came off. It didn't! So here I am, normal tummy with deep belly button. Like stickyourfingerinit kinda deep.
Again, NOT attractive!
And we won't even go into the trauma that nursing will cause...I haven't experienced it yet, but I'm sure its soon to come!
With all that said, motherhood and childbirth is totally worth it!
Best experiences of my life and wouldn't trade it for the world!
Just give it some time.
But don't think it won't happen to you....Ha!
(just like I did. I was silly and obviously delusional)

So all those cute preggies out there: You're body will be rocked, but it will definitely get back to normal.
Just give it some time.
But don't think it won't happen to you....Ha!

And to all those mothers out there: Tell me these things have happened to you, too?
Happy Wednesday to all!

My boobs will never be the same.
ReplyDeleteYou look great, I am sure!
I had the same hair growth and even got really mad one morning and SHAVED it... Yes, shaved it off!!! DO NOT recommend that, because it forced me to cut bangs that looked even worse!!! My hair did fall out in clumps and got darker also. It is all normal and very annoying... lol! I still have the "mummy tummy" pooch that will not go away and always joke to my daughter that she gave it to me, but it was worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteHair yes that's very normal. Belly button took a long time possibly 9 months and so did the line down my belly, but they both eventually went away. Boobs- not muh change after baby one, baby two about two months after I quit nursing they went away- like there is nothing there!!! Just part of it, but wouldn't trade it for anything! My my body is just still not te same.
