13 weeks to present

We are officially over the halfway point to meeting our sweet Lillian. And I couldn't be more excited!

But there is still LOTS to do. My biggest thing I want to accomplish is getting big brother in his new room and his big boy bed. I am sooo nervous about this one. Kiki found the most perfect bed at an antique shop in Greenwood. Its getting work done right now. I am pretty sure I've nailed down bedding and my color scheme, but need to start ordering that stuff.
I also have to revamp Hudson's very baby blue nursery into a very baby pink sweet nursery.
Luckily, we are using all the same furniture, so just changing some of the bedding, painting, and adding some sweet Lillian touches.
I thought about attempting the potty training process with Hudson before the new baby comes, but I just don't think he will be ready. He will be two on September 29th. He tells me when he "pooooh pooooohs" but I just don't think he would get the whole process. So i'll probably wait until closer to 2.5 and i've regained some of my sanity from newborn Lil.

This is me at 12 weeks at Jamie's wedding
By that time, the bump couldn't be hidden.
At my 14 week appt (I was 14 weeks and 4 days), my doc said we could look at the gender. This was a no-go. The parts were there, but her legs were closed.
At 16 weeks, I begged my friend Briana to take a look at UMC. They saw girl parts, but couldn't say for sure. The following week, we went to the beach and I secretly bought a few girly items. Hudson had a few carters outfits when he was little. I don't dig all that stuff that says "daddy's big boy" or "momma's rock star" I just hate that crap. But I was pleasantly surprised that alot of the carters girl stuff doesn't have to add an adjective and noun to every pink clothing item they sell.
And at 18 weeks and 4 days, we got the full confirmation. Lillian Tate Lindley was on the way.

And it has been a smocked world-wind ever since. Those facebook deals get me every time! And like I was telling Joey, they really are good deals. So if she's going to wear them regardless, might as well save a buck.

I started feeling little flutters around 16 weeks. Is she moving or is that gas? Ha! By 18 weeks, there was no denying I was feeling her move. And at 20 weeks, Joey felt her. She's active, that one. And I am loving every minute of those little jabs.
And now we are officially caught up on sweet Lillian. Love her so much already!

But I can't forget about my current only child. The sweet love of my life!
He continues to make me feel exhausted and over joyed with love on a daily basis.
I've been trying to get him to say "Sissy" or "Lil" Its a work in progress.

This is my sweaty boy at the park yesterday. He looks like a big boy in his polo hat. That thing is one size fits all. Apparently one size does not include a child with more hair than his mom or dad...combined!

Happy Thursday!

pregnancy journal

Just so I remember. I wanted to update on the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy.
I am becoming sadly aware that this is quite possibly my last pregnancy. Yes, God has his own plan. But since the found out this sweet baby is a girly girl, we were thinking this could be it for us.
One of each. And I am perfectly happy with that for now.

I found out we were pregnant on February 12th. I kinda thought I was, then I started cramping and then I kinda thought I wasn't. My sweet BFF Amy Grace was on two-line patrol with me. That morning, I thought I'd just take a test. I always keep those dollar tests around. And I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a faint second line. Yes, we were trying. But that was the first month to try...and I just assumed it would take alittle longer.

At that point, I loaded my pj wearing 17.5 month old in the car and we rushed to walgreens to get the big daddy test. Yes, the one that cost $34 bones for 2 tests. Why are they so freaking expensive?
And it was positive. I WAS PREGNANT!!!
And ecstatic!

But what was funny was I just told Joey the night before that it was probably going to take months and that the new baby wouldn't come until atleast mid-hunting season...maybe even after. And then God laughed. He loves it when you try to make plans.
This child was going to be due at the end of October. A big 2 weeks before hunting season started. And need I remind you that my husband lives for the woods during the months of December and January?!? God double laughed.
And I kinda double laughed in that terrified kind of way because I knew I might be alone daddy-less with a very little newborn and a very active 2 year old during the weekends.

And then I let Hudson play with the pregnancy test. For photo purposes. Don't worry, the cap was on.

I wanted to tell Joey in a cute way. I had every intention of that. And then you see that line at 7:00 am and you just can't hold it in. He was in the delta on business with a coworker, so he couldn't even respond appropriately.
This was the basics of our convo:
me: "Look at your picture text"
Joey: "oh wow"
me: "are you excited?"
Joey: "Yes! Can I call you back later?"
Haha!

I was floating on cloud 9 for the next couple of days....I am pretty much still on that cloud. I love being pregnant! And our babies were going to be very close to 2 years apart...and that's what I had hoped for.

With Hudson's pregnancy, it was a dream. I wasn't sick and I felt great the whole time
I hoped it would be that way with this little one....and then it wasn't.
Pretty much the second after I peed on that stick, I started feeling nauseas. Like every day, pretty much all day. And when you are at home with a very active 18 month old, he doesn't like it when you want to sleep all day. Really, he doesn't allow it. So I spent my first trimester sick to my stomach and exhausted. And trying to convince Joey I wasn't making up these symptoms. I never threw up, thank goodness, because I am one of those ug-ily thrower uppers. And I happened to marry a man that gets sick if he sees you get sick. So when I do throw up, he's basically throwing wet rags at me from the other room. And rubbing my back with a broom or whatever very long stick he can find.
I also had some spotting with this one. (sorry for the TMI)  I never had that with Hudson and I was terrified. Like call- my- doctor-to-schedule-a-sonogram-the-next-day terrified. And they let me the first few times, then I had to turn down the craziness because what I was experiencing was somewhat normal (so they say). It doesn't feel normal when it is happening to you.

Anyways, the first trimester was hard. But around 11-ish weeks, the nausea switch flipped and around 12-13 weeks, the fatigue got better. All was right with the world!

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure I had a bump at 8-9 weeks. Like a noticeable one. It really does happen faster with the second one even when you are enjoying healthy food like ice cream, pizza and French fries.  Who knew?

And that pretty much sums up the first 13 weeks.
Happy Tuesday. Its hot outside!

Summer fun

Hudson Lindley has been one busy boy these days! I've been trying my hardest to keep him entertained. But regardless of what we do, he just never stops!
I am actually looking forward to him going to MMO a few days a week this fall. It will be good for him to be around children his age. Actually he will be one of the youngest in the class, but that will be good for him to watch the big kids.
I finally gave in to his mickey obsession.

Hudson LOVES to ride the four wheeler with daddy. He yells "weeeeee"

I pulled out his big boy table the other night. I didn't understand the whole stay-in-your-seat thing. Might wait a month or two before I pull it out again.
But bless that little table. That was mine when I was little.

And the vacuum. Need I say more.

On Friday, me and Kelli ventured to brandon to the splash pad. We also met a Kayla and Chloe there. They had a blast!!!
Hudson loves a fountain or sprinkler.

Please look at those faces. Determination at its best!

And the rare occasion when Guss let's him get close enough.

And he immediately regrets it.

Blurry picture, but Hudson and Adda Laine at Mexican.

On Saturday, we had a girls night at the Vick-Clark wedding. And it was a blast!
My dates for the night: Jamie, Alison, and Kelly

Lillian and mark's first play date
And 20 weeks in all it's glory.

Also got to see sweet Kelli. So thankful for her and her kiddies. They keep me sane during the week!

Photo booth fun!

And last, my first matching outfits for next summer. I will die from the cuteness.

Hudson Lindley -20 months

Since I was trying to get a few decent shots of Hudson in his big brother shirt, I figured I would use them for his 20 month update! I feel like I should say "where has the time gone?" But now that I am with him everyday, time doesn't seem to go as fast....sometimes the hours drag on! Ha!
What's that quote, "The hours are long, but the years are short" That is perfectly fitting here!

Hudson is in a stage that he is either straight up fun or very grumpy/cranky. There is just no in between. And sometimes it changes at the drop of the hat.
But now that the backyard pool, hose, and water is involved; hopefully things will go much smoother. I'm really not complaining. I love being at home with him, but we have most definitely hitting that toddler phase. (end rant)

Hudson Lindley at 20 months:
- Still wearing the same size clothing and diapers (24 months and size 4)
- Become a very picky eater. Sometimes he will all that put in front of him, and sometimes he won't want anyone. One day he will eat 5 chicken nuggets and the next day he will hate them. And yes, he doesn't eat a lot of meat, so all white meat chicken nuggets are in our household!
The things I know he will eat are very limited these days: applesause, tootles (mickey) yogurt, goldfish, Scooby doo fruit snacks. Really?!? That is such a long list!
- Still only whole milk and water. Will introduce diluted juice when he turns 2.
- Can eat applesauce, yogurt and oatmeal with a spoon pretty much by himself. We are working on using a fork.
- LOVES mickey mouse or "too-teals" as he calls it. We now own mickey doll, plate, forks, utensils, DVDs, sippies and various phone apps. Everything is about mickey these days. When he wakes up in the morning, I hear him talking about "too-teals"
-Loves being outside. Playing with the waterhose and the swimming pool. He also likes big pools as long as there are steps. He likes to go up and down the steps in the pool.  I need to get one of those arm floaties with the bar across them...this boy is a daredevil.
- Starting to show is daddy more attention, which makes Joey beam with excitement!
- New words: Mickey, bubbles, too-teals, weeeeh, juice, truck, teeth. (He says about 20 words). I really don't think his speech is where it needs to be, but i'm trying really hard not to freak worry about it. His comprehension is way more extensive than his speech. He knows exactly what we are talking about. I have read this is common, so I hope things will change when he starts MMO in the fall. Should I be worried?
- Can throw one heck of a tantrum. And his new thing is to pull my hair, hit and scratch me mid tantrum. I'm not going to lie, I have spanked him....kinda hard. I really don't like this phase.
- Sleeping is great these days. I don't think he will every be a 3-4 hour napper, but we are taking what we can get. That's all I'm going to say so I won't jinx it.
- He has started to not like riding in the car for extended amounts of time. This was never a problem before. So I'm ashamed to admit I've used mickey more than I should.
- Sometimes, he will run up to me and give me a little rub/scratch on my arm or leg. In a sweet way. He'll smile and then run off. It melts my heart!
- He needs a minute in the morning before he wants to really get going. He likes to hold his milk and contemplate his day.
- I can already tell he is so strong willed.
- Will give me a kiss when I ask for one...and most days, I ask a lot!
- He is such a big boy, but still my baby boy. I think my heart is confused about that.

Most days, he is such a joy to be around. I am so thankful to get to spend these times with him (the good and the bad.) And I know he will be such a good big brother to Lillian!

Love him to the moon and back!

whats been going on

So.... I've been keeping a secret. Like a big one.
It's very true! We are expecting again! Hudson Lindley will be a big brother in October!!
And guess what?

IT'S A GIRL!!!!
I am 19 weeks and we had our big scan on Thursday.
Our sweet girl is healthy and happy!

But this little bit hasn't been as helpful as we'd all hoped. It all started when I was about 15 weeks and my MD said we could "take a peak" at the gender. We took "the peak" with Hudson was it was clear as day. So we were super excited to find out early again. Well this sweet girl kept her legs crossed the whole time. Always the lady. But the sono woman (who is so sweet might I add) did mention she thought it was a girl. Fast forward 2 weeks, we are about to head to the beach and I beg nicely ask my friend at UMC who does ped echoes to scan me. Again, Priss pot had her legs closed, but we did get one shot that indicated girl. At this point, we were getting pretty excited. A GIRL?!?! But it definitely wasn't for certain. But these last two weeks, I was just sure that the baby sprouted a penis, and we were having another boy. Turns out my feelings were wrong, and we are all seeing pink!!

And we already have a name. Yes, we are on top of things!

Our baby girl will be....
Lillian Tate Lindley
(Lillian Lindley for the most part)

I've had this name picked out for way longer than I've known Joey awhile
and basically laid it out for him when we were going through the marriage process.
Lillian is my maternal grandmother. So sweet and so special
And yes, she will go by Lillian.

Everytime I think about her sweet name, I just tear up.
And don't ask my mom about it, she turns into water works.

Kiki wanted to be the first to show Lillian some girly clothes love

And Hudson is so excited about his little sister!

I plan on updating on basically the first half of this pregnancy. I am determined to be as bloggy as I was when pregnant with Hudson.

We are so excited about our girl, our sweet healthy girl!
And thank ya'll for the kind words!
Prayers are also welcome as we start the last half of growing this angel baby!
