Barnes at TWO months

Barnes Lindley is TWO months old!
(on May 18th)

This sweet baby boy has completely stolen my heart. And I think I have his, too!
Although he's definitely not the most laid back baby ever (I'm looking at you Lillian), he is so sweet and learning to be more chill. But when he's done and tired, HE.IS.DONE. And you better wrap in up and put him to sleep.

Things about Barnes at TWO months:
-Nursing every 3-3.5 hours during the day. I'm sure he can got a bit longer, but we aren't starting that yet. Still nursing great. Only had 2 bottles in his 9 weeks of being alive, and I'm ok with that for the moment. He can go anywhere between 6-7 hours at night between nursing sessions. We are improving in that area.
-Sleep. Ah, sleep. You are so finicky these days. One night he will sleep until 5 am (yah!) and the next he will start rousing around 1:00 am. Regardless, I try to hold him off until atleast 2:00 am, and really try for 3:00 am. Sometimes I have to go in there lots of time to put the pap in  his mouth to hold him off. Like I said, that usually starts bt 1:00-2:00. BUT, we started putting him down in his crib at night after I nurse him at 8:00 pm. This was a gamechanger for us. No more dreamfeed because it was just waking him up. That way, me and Joey can have some time to relax and actually talk in more than a whisper.
-Sleeping in his crib at night, but sleeping in the swing in his room for naps. Yes, I am a horrible babywise mom. But he sleeps so good in that swing, and I am just not ready to fight the battle of transitioning to the crib for naps. Its always been more difficult than night time sleep for some reason.
-Wearing size one diapers and 0-3 month clothing. He still wears his newborn gowns at night, but they are getting kind of snug. He can even wear a few of small 3 mth things. Sweet chunky monkey. He's got a closet full of clothing (lots of new things and lots of Hudson's smocked things), but I still want to put him in gowns. I just can't let go of it. And if I start putting him in bubbles, then that means he's an infant and not a newborn. And i'm just not ready to accept that yet. He also wears alot of diaper sets. Love those!
-Chunky monkey weighed 12 lbs 1 oz at his 6 week checkup (which was actually 7 week and 6 days). 55% for weight and 75% for height. I look at him and see a chunkster. But in all actuality, he's just normal size really. I am just used to having really small babies. Hudson and Lillian were both in the 10% for weight for a long time (and Hudson still is). So I am embracing this sweet chunk of love and his arm rolls and double chin. Where did he come from?
-He's started social smiling and it is so so cute (see pictures below). He can totally recognize his name when I call him and will even track you. I love this phase when they are starting to be more aware of the surroundings.
-He's started to play on his playmate and likes to look in the mirror. We kind of have a routine of things we do during the day... nurse, sit in bouncy for a few mins upright because of reflux, and play on playmate. But, when he's done, you better grab him or he will scream bloody murder and turn beet red.
-He definitely doesn't mind being on the go. His favorite place to be is in my baby K'tan carrier. If you see me out with all my babies, chances are he will be in that wrap. He loves it and it allows me to have free hands. I even put him it when when we run errands just him and me. He doesn't love to be idle in his carseat for too long, so this is a good alternative. He's been to the splash pad, zoo, park, and everywhere else his big siblings want to go....like i've said before, he's my sidekick.
-This baby is definitely a mommy's boy. No one can calm him like I can, which can be a good and bad thing. And we still haven't left all three of them (like a date) yet. I'm hoping to change that soon!
-Still no clue who he looks like. Some say my dad, but definitely not his brother or sister.
-By the looks of his sweet smile, you can tell he's going to have the sweetest nature when he figures out the world. I want him to stay my sweet baby boy forever. We've got a wild, daddy loving and full of energy boy and a wrecking ball sweet middle sissy... I hope for a quiet spirited little boy. But I guess, we'll have to wait and see for that.

Barnes Thomas, we love you so much! Thank you for being such a sweet bonus baby and the perfect way to complete our family!

First time in footies at 8 weeks,
And he looks so so cute!

And please look at those cheeks. I am totally in love...and don't think they don't get kissed 5786 times a day! Love my baby boy!
