Hudson Lindley-14 months

I decided that even though he was a big one year old, Hudson still deserves to have monthly updates.
But for now, I will give updates every 2 months. I know I will love to look back on this blog book one day.

Hudson Lindley was 14 months old on November 29th. That is just crazy to me!
This baby big boy is every where these days. He RUNS every where. When he first started taking steps around his first birthday, he would take a few at a time and fall. He skipped the whole just walk normal thing, and went straight to a full on sprint. He definitely keeps me on my toes!

Fun facts about this little 14 month old:
-last week at the doctor, he weighed 23.2 lbs. Not sure of the height.
-Wearing 18 month clothing and size 4-4.5 shoe. He's getting some size 5 shoes for Christmas
-We just moved up to size 4 diapers. And, trying to be stay-at-home-mom frugal, I bought Target brand diapers. The verdict is still out.
-I think I might have a picky eater on our hands. The boy can eat, but he is kinda picky on what he will shove in his mouth. Some of our recent favorites: rotisserie chicken, black beans, ground turkey, green beans (from can, no salt added), broccoli rice cheese steam bag, string cheese, grilled cheese...they boy eats alot of cheese. He used to love english peas, but now he's not into them.
-As already stated, always on the move. I have tried to get him to watch mickey mouse clubhouse while he drinks his morning milk. NOT happening. If he's awake, he.is.running. (insert best forrest gump voice)
-Loves to open and shut doors, cabinets, etc. But gets frustrated when he shuts himself in and can't get out
-Not into books. He just won't sit still long enough for me to get through a full book. We are trying to work on this
-Horrible table manners :) He throws his food and sippy off his highchair all the time. Luckily, we have the dogs to clean up, but I know he is forming bad habits. I read in toddlerwise this morning to give verbal commands, a gentle hand squeeze, and if nothing else works, a period of isolation.
In my book, a period of isolation= time out. And I don't even know if he would understand he was in trouble if I put him in time out.
-Usually takes about 1-1.5 hour nap a day. My child is the WORST napper in the history of children. Always has been. But we are still sleeping 12 hours at night, so I try not to complain too much. But I will tell you it is hard to do my housewifely duties with a running, screaming, awake child.
-He is starting to show interest in his trucks and tractors. Up until now, he hasn't really had a "thing"
-He is really understanding things we say these days. When we ask if he's hungry, he goes to his highchair if he is. When asked where his pappap is, he will point to the bowl. If I say "Hudson get in your chair" he will jump in his mini chair. Its nice when he can follow some limited commands.
-Just started dancing. We have dance party after breakfast. Hot-dog, hot-dog, hot-diggity-dog.
-He just started this thing where he wants to put things in his mouth. But they are all gross things, like my shoes, or his shoes, or his paci holder.
-Loves to pat on Riley and she has really started to enjoy him. She no longer runs away when he is chasing after her.
-His favorite songs to sing are "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Patty Cake"
-He is starting to give kisses. Open mouth and drooly. The best kind.
-He has learned to climb on the couch by using his pottery barn chair. I swear this child is a mini mcgyver.
-Still loves to snuggle when he is sleepy or upset. Bless him. And I just let him snuggle away. These moments won't last that much longer!
-Still mama and da-dy. His own version of dog and a few other words. Getting tubes next week will hopefully improve his hearing and language.
-The sweetest, wildest, most strong-willed little boy. But he is the absolute love of our lives!

We had a Christmas photo session with our monogram jammies

Please look at the joy in this face!

He knows he's not suppose to touch those ornaments

Time is definitely not a friend to a new mommy. They just grow so fast. But with each passing day, he brings more happiness into our lives. And each stage is better than the last.
We thank God daily for this little blessing!
We love you to the moon, Hudson Lindley!

  1. He is the cutest little cotton top I've ever seen! One tube mama to another, they are great! But it's very stressful when they take him back for surgery. As in, Rudy and I both cried. So bring your mom along please, you'll need her for moral support:) They are great and sooo worth it!! Happy Christmas to your sweet family!

  2. He is so cute! When Jones turned one and stopped nursing, I switched to Target diapers - we liked them!

Jones got tubes when he was 1 1/2. He didn't start talking until he was about 18 months. He still goes to speech once a week, but it is SO much better! I hope the tubes work for yall - they were miracle workers for us!!
And I agree with the above comment - take moral support! It was Jones' second surgery in his little life, but each time I still wanted my mama!!
