Dear Miracle Blanket,
You have been truly great to us. Since Hudson was 8 weeks old, you have helped us sleep through the night. The first night we used you, we ran into his room because it was 5:00 am and he hadn't woken up yet. You are that good! You have helped with the startle reflex more than I could ever imagined. And you have helped calm my baby down when he was so upset.
But now, it is time to see you go. It is time. Our sweet baby is 5 and a half months old. It is time.
Last Friday, we stopped swaddling Hudson. Don't get it twisted, this was a BIG deal for us. We thought those flailing arms would keep that baby up at night. And it didn't. Not really, anyway. The first night, we had to re-swaddle at 2:00 am and it got progressively later since that time. Hudson has been completely free of your swaddle since Wednesday night.
See, miracle blanket, you symbolize so much to me. My baby is getting too big for you, he is getting where he doesn't need you. And this saddens me. Its the end of an era.
The swaddlethatchildupsohewillquitscreaming era.
I wish they made you in adult sizes, because Hudson Lindley slept so soundly...you must be real good!
So see you later, alligator. We will definitely pull you out again with baby #2.

Love,
Kristin and Hudson Lindley
Photographic evidence that this baby was ready to be done...
The thing was completely loose and one leg hanging out. Bless his swaddling bones!

And special thanks to Katie Mitchell letting us borrow her Miracle Blanket. Literally changed our life!
