favorites of the moment

Since its been cold and wintery in Madison, me and Josie have been snuggled up in our house alot. And you know I love to snuggle with Josie. Him, not so much. But he can be forced at times. So we've been watching lots of movies (new and old) and I've been catching up on some reading. First for the books:

This book is AMAZING! I love reading about his stance on the importat decisions/issues of his presidency (and his whole life, really.) The chapters on 9/11 are both moving and heartbreaking. I also love how he incorporates Bible verses into his official speeches. And no, you don't have to be a republican to like this book, but it does talk about his repubican ways and policies. let me clarify, I would NOT read a book about our current president. just saying. Anyways, I have always had a secret baby crush on George W (don't ask), but this book has heightened this baby crush.

Have not officially started this book yet, but it is on my nightstand. I definitely want to read this before seeing the movie (which I heard was really good.) This whole story fascinates me. A Harvard student starts a phenomenon, and apparently he does some jerky moves to get to the top. Dum.Dum.Dum. And the plot thickens. but we know he comes out a billionaire.

What we've been watching. And the first 2 movies, "we've" has been used loosely, because sweet Joey finally agreed after some kicking and screaming. He says I don't have the best taste in movies.. I totally disagree.

Now, let me clarify, I have seen this before and LOVED it! But I bought it on amazon.com recently, and have been hooked ever since. Have you seen it?
Wes Anderson, the director, brings to life this quirky, stuck in the 70's family that turn out to be totally lovable. I can not say enough wonderful things about this movie. And it has an all-star cast. The DVD came with all this behinds-the-scene footage and documentary, and I have watched it all.
Joey tells me I tend to get obsessed with things...well bring on this obsession, because it is totally worth it
(I intend to purchase the soundtrack, as well)

"Go, Mordecai"

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. What a great movie! Jim Carey is totally out of his element in this film and it is fantastic. Elijah Wood, normally love him...he's a hobbet, what's not to love? But in this movie, he gets on my last nerve. My favorite part of the movie is even after they've been "erased" from eachother, they still find a way to come together again. Almost like you can't fight love (so cheesy, right?)

On a sitcom note, we have been watching Modern Family: Season 1 on DVD. Love love love it! Phil Dunphy might be my favorite!

This weekend, Miss America comes on. Tara and I have had a tradition of watching this (and Miss Mississippi) together for 4-5 years now. So this year, we get to bring Adda Laine into this dynasty.
Speaking of AP, I need to post some pictures of that tot soon. She is growing like a weed! I am a proud aunt Kiki!

Happy Friday!
