Dear naptime

Dear Lillian's nap time,
Where have you gone? I miss you so. Come back soon, you here?!?!!

The past few weeks we've struggled to get Lillian to nap. Let me re-phrase: she will go down for a nap, but 30-45 mins later those eyes pop open. This, my friends, is what us baby-wisers call the 45 minute intruder. Look it up, it's a real thing. Apparently it pops up around this time and will linger for who knows how long. I believe the book says "it will go away when it goes away".Well, thank you for that stellar advice. I am a problem solver, and the wait it out game isn't for me.
So I have been spending the rest of the 1.5-2 hour of the nap trying to get her back to sleep. In the last week or so, we've even explored the crying it out technique. Not full blown CIO, but a mild version. And this has somewhat helped my sanity. For anyone who has played the paci game, you know what I mean. Sometimes they just need to fuss alittle to get tired again.

With two small children, nap time is a sacred thing for a SAHM, really for any mother. It's the small time period in the day where you can have "mommy time". To me, this time means sit on the couch and stuff your face, I mean clean the house. Potato, Potaaato.
And now that things have gone all whack, it's thrown me for a loop. Sweet Lillian, I love you so. Just nap it out, baby girl.
Atleast you're the sweetest, smiliest, most laid back baby ever (or that's ever been in this family)

In other news, she pretty consistent with her night time sleep. So atleast that's good.

Seriously though, I've really been trying to work on not freaking out when things don't go according to plan. I tend to get the panties-in-a-wad syndrome pretty easily and I'm making a real effort to work on that. This too shall pass!

Happy Friday!
