to bubble or not to bubble

To bubble or not to bubble....that is the question.
Ya'll know I can't go too long without talking/looking for sweet smocked outfits.
And with spring coming soon, I've been trying to get Hudson's spring wardrobe ready.
And when its time to wear new clothes, he'll be 18 months old.
So the big question is... Is Hudson too old for a bubble?
I already have probably 6 spring/summer bubbles that I know he will wear (bc they are too cute)
But should I just quit buying those and stick with the short-alls?
I am really on the fence about this

I found the most recent pictures of bubble Hudson

And they were cute on 12 month old Hudson

I already get my fair share of comments on his wardrobe: "Put some boy clothes on him"
"He doesn't wear jeans?" "She's so pretty" BLAH BLAH BLAH
They don't bother me anymore, but we are getting kinda close to that 24 month line.
The 24 month line is defined as the time where those sweet baby boy clothes are borderline inappropriate on your recently turned big boy.

So am I getting too close to the 24 month line? Please boy moms (or any moms) please speak up!

And sorry for this completely random post

  1. Jeremy wont let me do bubbles for the spring..he said he is okay with shortalls but no bubbles. Pretty sad but at least I will still get my smocked fix with shortalls. And he better not get called a girl this summer!

  2. Once chunky baby boy legs turn into thinner walking boy legs, the bubbles should be close to retirement:) In my opinion, there is nothing cuter than a sweet, summer shortall! Make Joey happy & don't buy anymore bubbles...
P.s. I'm predicting Hudson will spend the majority of his summer with no clothes, for some reason it just happens when they get older!
    P.s.s. He is a DOLL

  3. I just had to ask a friend about this even for Elle. She is two and no more bubbles this spring. I am focusing on dresses and bloomer sets with longer shirts (hard to describe) for this season's wardrobe. I agree with the other comment though. If his baby rolls are gone then it is time to move on. Sad day for all when your babies have to wear big kid clothes. Go for the shortalls!

  4. Mine turned 2 in June and we wore them through that summer. He definitely had more Jon-jons than bubbles though. He was also in the 25% for height and weight then, so at 2 he didn't look too tall for them.
