Dear Hudson Lindley,
You are 2 weeks old today. Where has the time gone? Seems like yesterday my water was breaking in a patient's room (true story) and you decided to enter the world at 5:07 the next morning. Can I just tell you that these past 2 weeks have been the most rewarding and challenging weeks ever! Teaching you how to live is hard! But it is the greatest job in the world! My biggest hopes for you right now are that you are well fed and warm. Speaking of well fed, you love to nurse. I was on the fence about it before you were born, sweet angel. I didn't know if I wanted to do it... But now I wouldn't have it any other way! It gives us special bonding time and I thank God that He has given me the ability to provide for you in that way. And when we have awake/active time, you have started to track your eyes toward my voice. That makes me so happy.
Did you know you have a cow-lick on the crown of your beautiful blonde hair? That is a Lindley thing. Speaking of Lindley, you still look just like your daddy. And it makes him so proud. Your dad can't wait to come home everyday to spend time with you! And I am so lucky to spend 12 weeks with you. I want to soak up every minute!
Do you think I'm doing a good job? Do you love me as much as I love you? I am head of heels in love with you, little one, and I hope you feel the same way! You are the absolute light of my life!
A few things about you at 2 weeks:
- You still have the black belly button. We clean it several times a day, and hope that thing falls off soon.
- you little tee tee is healing so well
- You are currently wearing newborn size clothes and diapers. Most of the clothes mommy bought for you are still too big. I love your little self!
-When you sleep, you make little grunts and moans. It was hard for mommy to sleep the first few nights, and it continues to be hard when you make those noises
-You've had 3 semi-baths, and you really don't know what to think about them. But you love it after when you are wrapped in your towel blanket
- Still love to be swaddled, but you are starting to like your arms out of it during sleep
-Nursing every 2-3 hours. At this point, we are at the mercy of your sweet baby belly!
Pictures of one week and today...my baby is getting so big!

Bless your angel, monkey, love of my life bones!
Bottom line: I love you, baby boy! More than I have ever loved anything. Still blows my mind that we made you, you lived in my belly, and poof you're here now.
You are my greatest gift!
Love,
Your mommy
