Hudson at 29 months

Hudson Lindley will be two and a half at the end of next month. Wow! It's crazy how this baby boy can be such a joy and such a train wreck all at the same time.
I love him to absolute pieces, but we've been going through a rough patch. Honestly, he wants nothing to do with me. And it makes me so sad. If daddy is around, it's like I'm chopped liver.
I knew we would have some difficulties when Lillian came, but I had no idea if would be like this. Bless him, he knows how to throw a fit like no other. Combine that with the terrible twos, you can imagine the time we've been having. I've really been trying to make special time for me and Hudson, and this seems to help.... Sometimes. Ha! This, too, shall pass.

Some things about Hudson at 29 months:
- weighs 30 lbs. My sweet boy is long and lean. Still in the low percentiles for weight.
- such a picky eater. Man oh man! While other tots are eating pizza, spaghetti, casseroles, and fruits; Hudson won't touch any of that stuff. He will eat: chicken nuggets, fish sticks, roast, green beans, black beans, black eyed peas, sweet peas (sometimes), rice, apple sauce, yogurt, waffles, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal, nutragrain bars. We basically alternate all those things for his meals. He loves apple sauce and nutragrain bars. He would live off those and goldfish/cookies if we'd let him. Today, he ate chicken nuggets and fries for lunch. I'm learning to pick my battles
- still no juice. I know, I'm weird. He just likes water so much.
- wearing 2T things now. I've been buying 3T for summer and fall. He needs it for length, but has a 2T waist. Again, long and lean.
- he LOVES to be outside. Loves riding his gator, daddy's new ranger, jumping on the trampoline and playing with his bubble machine.
- we are still on Mickey. Good grief I'm sick of tootles, so I've recorded cars and toy store to try and change thing up.
- loves his books at night. We read about 10 books before bed. Goodnight construction site every single night "working hard to help his team, crane truck raises one last beam"
- Loves to name farm animals and trucks.
- he just started speech therapy last week. We are so excited about this! Hudson's speech is improving every day. And Joey Lindley is wonderful working with him. He loves to say "hey" or "bye bye" to everyone by name these days. "Hey ba-bee" "hey sissy" "bye bye daddy" bye bye blue bus" and he's starting to identify things by color or theme. "Lellow bus" "Hudson's books"
- going to trinity MMO 3 days a week. He will start 4-5 days in the fall
- we plan on starting potty training in the spring. I can't even think about it through. It makes my head spin.
- he will chase Riley around the house, like one big circle, for hours if she'd let him.
- gives the best hugs and kisses
- really starting to love his sissy. If he can't see her, he will go searching. His favorite thing to do is help me get her up in the mornings. We tip toe in her room and he climbs on the side of her crib and yells "heeeey si-sssssy" we are still working on inside voice.

His smile is so contagious! And that blonde hair and blue eyes are straight up heartbreaker territory!

Sometimes I feel like he is the way he is with me because we're together so much. He knows he can get away with more. And bless him, his little world is rocked my Lillian.
And he's so strong willed. This will be an amazing trait when he gets older.... I just know it! But these days, it's quite the task.

Love that sweet boy more than words. And I hope one day soon, he'll remember that he loves me back! (insert dramatic mommy look)

Lillian at FOUR months

This sweet angel baby is four months old. I absolutely love her to pieces! She is definitely not a newborn anymore, but still my sweet little baby!
She is very laid back (thank goodness), but when she wants something, you better bring it. Or she will pull out the big guns.

Lillian Lindley at FOUR months:
-Still nursing. Going strong and good. She can go between 3-3.5 hours flexibly. She mostly nurses, but doesn't mind a bottle. Planning on starting rice around 6 months if she can make it that long.
-Napping has greatly improved. Takes two long naps during the day and two short naps towards the end of the day. Night time sleep is still inconsistent. But she is going about 8.5 hours before she nurses and then back down for 2-3 hours. I'll take it.
- Wearing 3 months and 3-6 month stuff. Size one diapers. She has some major feet on her. I don't love to put shoes on little babies, but I want to get her foot sized just to know. She's grown out of all her socks.
- She's got some ears on her. Bless it.
- Rolling all over the place. Tummy to back and back to tummy. Her little stomach is still small and immature, so she will spit up some if she lays on stomach too long. Its not painful to her, so ped wasn't concerned.
- Hands are in the mouth all the time. Literally. And with drool everywhere. I know that child isn't teething yet?
- Still working on bumbo sitting. I'm not really pushing it. That thing looks uncomfortable. Meka suggested getting out the exersaucer. I'm just not ready yet. And I don't think she is either.
- Smiles all the time. Such a happy girl!
- Loves to watch big brother and the dogs run around like crazy people.
- Still using the bouncy seat and swing a good bit. They are very helpful when you just need two hands. But if she is too upset, neither will help calm her down. When that happens, she likes to get in the nook of my neck and snuggle to sleep. Sweetest thing ever!
- We had her 4 month checkup last week. Her stats: 12 lbs 5 oz (15%) length 25 1/4 inches (80%) head 40 cm (40%). It was confirmed that she is a little bit. Both the Lindleys and the Zitos have some long and leans, and Lillian (and Hudson) will probably both be in that category.
- Loves kisses and being tickled.
- Such a wonderful and perfect addition to our family!

My sweet and happy girl

This face makes me laugh

That smile and those ears! I die!

Thanking God daily, hourly, minutely for this sweet angel baby!
Such a joy!

Two weeks

Y'all, Joey has been out of town for two weeks. I'll give you a second to let that sink in.... TWO WEEKS!!!
Johnson & Johnson sent him to Pennsylvania for new product knowledge/training stuff and with a winter storm up there, his flights were getting cancelled left and right. I didn't think he was ever coming home. But he is... And life is glad again!
We've been missing that daddy really bad!
So, these last 2 weeks, it's been cold and I've been stressed. Ha! Parenting two small littles solo is serious. Like makethatadouble kind of serious (but the only double I can have these days is diet cokes... Dang you nursing)
But we made it.

I'd like to thank Jesus, Kiki and these wonderful products for helping me through. I've discovered that I have a small obsession with hot tamales. And when times get tough, I become a stress hot tamale eater. Like a box a night stress eater. Not good for my figure, but I can't resist.

So we've been laying low since daddy's been gone. Again, it's been cold and the babies have been sniffly.

We take lots of selfies to keep daddy updated.

Lillian has taken her rolling to a whole new level

Yah for Junior league fun!

Harlan and Lillian are already BFFs!

Bumbo first timer! She likes it ok, but she still tiny, so not quite ready for long term sitting.

Please notice her lack of hair. She actually has more than she looks in this picture, but still not half as much as Hudson had. It's also lightening up!

Hudson started speech therapy this week (more on that later). This is what happens when he wakes up early from his nap. Selfie torture.

God bless chick fila. It's a SAHM's cold weather dream.

Lillian has been her angel self

Kim and Lil at evie's first birthday party! So cute! I wish I'd taken more pictures.

Every bubble bath is like the first time for Hudson. Love to see life through a two year old!

I need to do a whole post on Hudson Lindley. He is seriously something else! And testing me ev-er-ysingleday! But love him, he's so passionate (cough-obsessive)

Bottom line: we are so glad our daddy is home. Things aren't the same without him!
And major major props to the single parents and those who live life without their spouse on a regular basis. You are my hero!

Lillian at THREE months

Lillian Lindley turned 3 months old on January 16th. I know, I know I'm late on posting; but these pictures were taken on her actual 3 month date. I can't believe this sissy is 3 months old. Every month seems to go by faster and faster.
Lillian is just the sweetest thing! She smiles and smiles and smiles some more. (But in her 3 month pictures, I couldn't get one on camera). She literally just sits there and takes it all in. I sound like a broken record, but this is a welcomed difference from Hudson. God love that needy boy!

Lillian Lindley at THREE MONTHS:
-Still nursing every 3-3.5 hours during the day. This girl is in and out in less than 10 mintues most times. She's super efficient. When she's with Meka, she will take a bottle like a champ. But those bottles are few and far between. I am just a nursing snob. I love it!
side note: even though I plan to nurse for a year, I have become obsessed with filling my freezer with as much breast milk as possible. Hello, I'm Kristin, and I'm a frozen milk hoarder.
- Sleeping from 8:30-5:30 at night, nursing for 10-15 minutes and going back down for 3 more hours. Although that 5:30 time kinda sucks, she is great about going back to sleep...and so do I! Still having to do the paci thing a few times, but other than that, she's consistently going about 12 hours of total nighttime sleep. She's napping between 1.5-2 hours with each cycle during the day. I am happy to report that her napping is improving. Thank the Lord for that!
- Still wearing size one diapers. Meka said the other day it might be time to bump up. I quickly informed her that we have 3 more boxes of ones, and she will just squeeze into them. Ha! They still fit her just fine.
-Wearing 3 month rompers and things that button around the legs. She is still able to wear a lot of her newborn gowns, but they are just short. She has a little waist, but with a long stride. Just like her brother.
-Still sporting her dark hair. But I swear it photographs darker than it really is. Me and Joey were wondering if it was falling out again, and we both noticed it wasn't...its just getting lighter. But she does have more down the middle, like a baby Mohawk. Hudson had waaaay more hair than her at this age.
-She is rolling both tummy to back and back to tummy. Her first time to roll back to tummy was on February 2nd (superbowl night). Since that first roll, she is on the move. This morning, she rolled clear across her mat and blanket. I liked that I was able to put her on the mat and step away, but that's not possible now. Even though she has been rolling tummy to back since 9-10 weeks, the back to tummy seems to be so much easier for her. She gets on her stomach and gets pissed because she doesn't want to go back. Tummy time is not her friend.
-Favorite waketime activities: playmat, bouncy seat, being held, swing., and playing with her hands. She will grab at things on playmat, too. I pulled out some light up toys she got for Christmas and she has been digging those. I need to get the blue bumbo from Kiki's house.
- Loves to baby talk and just started blowing bubbles
-I have heard from several people (non-family members), that she is starting to look like a Zito. This makes me so happy considering my children look nothing like me.

Wearing one of my gowns.

For memory sake, her daily schedule:
morning nurse at 5:30 am, back to sleep until 8:30-9.
Nurse every 3ish hours until 6:00 pm
waketime bt 6:00-7:15
quiet time/cat nap in swing bt 7:15-8:00ish
bath at 8:00
nurse and bed at 8:30
(mommy and daddy nightly date from 8:45-10:15)

This angel baby is such a huge joy in our lives! I thank God for her (and her big brotherbear) daily!!

Lately

Well, we survived the big snow/ice storm last week, and somehow the snow totally forgot to come to our house. Those images from Birmingham and Atlanta were heart breaking! Many prayers were sent their way!
Daddy has been sick for literally the last two weeks, so the Lindley babies and I haven't been going out too much.

Practicing our painting skills. This lasted for about 2 minutes

Museum with friends!

Lillian found her hands!

Being her angel self in my vintage gown

My first shopping trip with both babies. Thankful that Lillian likes the baby bjorn!

Look at that pug nose!!

And that angel grin.

Hudson refuses to make mealtime easy. This is me bribing him with the iPad. Fish sticks and black eyes peas.

Who says you can't wear Christmas jammies in January?!?

She loves to watch him

Hey!

Love my babies so much!!!
