I love him to absolute pieces, but we've been going through a rough patch. Honestly, he wants nothing to do with me. And it makes me so sad. If daddy is around, it's like I'm chopped liver.
I knew we would have some difficulties when Lillian came, but I had no idea if would be like this. Bless him, he knows how to throw a fit like no other. Combine that with the terrible twos, you can imagine the time we've been having. I've really been trying to make special time for me and Hudson, and this seems to help.... Sometimes. Ha! This, too, shall pass.
Some things about Hudson at 29 months:
- weighs 30 lbs. My sweet boy is long and lean. Still in the low percentiles for weight.
- such a picky eater. Man oh man! While other tots are eating pizza, spaghetti, casseroles, and fruits; Hudson won't touch any of that stuff. He will eat: chicken nuggets, fish sticks, roast, green beans, black beans, black eyed peas, sweet peas (sometimes), rice, apple sauce, yogurt, waffles, muffins, pancakes, oatmeal, nutragrain bars. We basically alternate all those things for his meals. He loves apple sauce and nutragrain bars. He would live off those and goldfish/cookies if we'd let him. Today, he ate chicken nuggets and fries for lunch. I'm learning to pick my battles
- still no juice. I know, I'm weird. He just likes water so much.
- wearing 2T things now. I've been buying 3T for summer and fall. He needs it for length, but has a 2T waist. Again, long and lean.
- he LOVES to be outside. Loves riding his gator, daddy's new ranger, jumping on the trampoline and playing with his bubble machine.
- we are still on Mickey. Good grief I'm sick of tootles, so I've recorded cars and toy store to try and change thing up.
- loves his books at night. We read about 10 books before bed. Goodnight construction site every single night "working hard to help his team, crane truck raises one last beam"
- Loves to name farm animals and trucks.
- he just started speech therapy last week. We are so excited about this! Hudson's speech is improving every day. And Joey Lindley is wonderful working with him. He loves to say "hey" or "bye bye" to everyone by name these days. "Hey ba-bee" "hey sissy" "bye bye daddy" bye bye blue bus" and he's starting to identify things by color or theme. "Lellow bus" "Hudson's books"
- going to trinity MMO 3 days a week. He will start 4-5 days in the fall
- we plan on starting potty training in the spring. I can't even think about it through. It makes my head spin.
- he will chase Riley around the house, like one big circle, for hours if she'd let him.
- gives the best hugs and kisses
- really starting to love his sissy. If he can't see her, he will go searching. His favorite thing to do is help me get her up in the mornings. We tip toe in her room and he climbs on the side of her crib and yells "heeeey si-sssssy" we are still working on inside voice.
His smile is so contagious! And that blonde hair and blue eyes are straight up heartbreaker territory!

Sometimes I feel like he is the way he is with me because we're together so much. He knows he can get away with more. And bless him, his little world is rocked my Lillian.
And he's so strong willed. This will be an amazing trait when he gets older.... I just know it! But these days, it's quite the task.
Love that sweet boy more than words. And I hope one day soon, he'll remember that he loves me back! (insert dramatic mommy look)
