Big boy date

Last week, I had a geyser falls date with my big boy! Meka watched Lillian so we could really enjoy the day. I think the water park would have been too much for sissy.

We loaded up in Kelli's car with Kate and Owen.

She hadn't been in awhile and I know she thought I was crazy when I went sprinting though the park trying to get a cabana thing at the splash pad part. I think I pulled a hamstring, but we got a great lounge area for the day.

This slide. It was love a first sight for Hudson last year and this year, he loved it even more.
(Last year)

Same slide. Same sweet boy. Different paint color.

Kate was hesitant, but she finally joined the fun.

Hudson was totally in his element and he couldn't stop smiling!

Had to take a lunch break. There is nothing better than some good ole fried food when you're swimming.

Me and my sweet boy! We are color coordinating.

I think he took the record for most slide runs.

Geyser falls prom king and queen. I love love Kate's expression.

We mostly stayed on the splash pad area. But we did venture out the the beach and the lazy river. It was such a great day!
And they were wiped out on the way home!

It really was a great day! So thankful we are able to have those days with just the two of us (and our fun friends!)

Lillian's 6 month pictures

I just remembered that I didn't post Lillian's six month photos.
These were taken on May 3rd at Reunion in Madison. Our wonderful photographer, Jana, took these and I couldn't love them more! I've said it a million times...she is amazing with the camera!
Sweet sissy knows what to do when the camera is in her face. She's been practicing since the second she was born. Hudson, on the other hand, was hot and not in the mood for pictures but I did get a few with him. Love my strong-willed boy!

And here they are....

This was the best sibling photo we could get....They just weren't having it.

Lillian wearing mine (and my brother's) christening gown. And the diamond cross necklace that my grandmother gave me....Kiki has kept everything!

The humidity tamed her mohawk

Sweet brotherbear!
And my favorite family picture. Love the sunlight shining through the trees!
When we figure out our moving situation, I will have this picture big  in my house.

Sweet and sour

Happy summer days! It's hot!

I feel like I don't give Hudson enough blog attention. He is such a busy boy that it's hard to get him to even slow down to take a picture.
Yesterday was one of those crazy mommy days with him. We've been going to swim lessons for almost 8 weeks now. He talks about it all the times. Sometimes he goes and loves it, sometimes he goes and acts a fool. Yesterday was the act-a-fool day.
I love him so so much, but sometimes he drives me insane!
He's got such a sweet personality, but he is also very fussy and whiny at (a lot of) times. It's hard to explain when people ask... He wants things his exact way and when it doesn't go his exact way, he total freaks out. Like yelling, screaming, arching his back, crying for no reason type thing. The kind of thing that people stop and start at. And he does this quite often. Bless him.

So, for now, I'm trying to deal with his sour side. I know (or I hope) that this is just a phase and I need to just ride it out. I just bought the book Unglued... Hoping it will give me some insight on how not to lash out at him.
He's got such a sweet heart and can be such an angel when he wants to be. But then throw the biggest fit ever an hour later...
I guess that's the terrible twos (and I guess threes ) for you!

Sweet boy cuddling with me.

Sour little boy crying for no reason after swim lessons.

Love my sweet and sour boy!

Lillian at EIGHT months

I am late with this month, but Lillian turned EIGHT months on June 16th. My my my....this child just gets better and better. She is now crawling all over the place and starting to pull up. Sweet angel has bruises on her knees from all her mobility. You can't keep her still these days. All the while smiling with that sweet baby grin.

Lillian Lindley at EIGHT months:
- Wearing 9 and 12 month clothing. Some of the 12 month things are still long and some aren't. Sissy is long waisted like her mommy. Still size 2 diapers but we might be getting close to size 3.
- Still nursing 4-5 times a day. She is still good with nursing but doesn't love to comfort nurse. She is a get-in and get-out type of girl.  Hudson was the same way. I have a feeling when its time to wean at a year, she will be ok with it. Sister loves to eat her some solids, though. She is a bottomless pit. We just added lunch to the mix and she is so excited. She also started puffs and loves those too. I'm thinking around 9 months we will start giving her mashed up food and start the transition to real food. She really will eat anything I put in front of her. I am still making all her food and we've done some new things: blueberries, butternut squash, mango. I plan to try plum and cottage cheese this week.
- Sissy is officially unswaddled and now sleeps in the muslin sleep sack. It took a few days, but she has finally found her footing with it. Naps have gotten better, too. She is now able to just roll around and get settled how she wants to. The angel monitor has been going off recently because she loves to get at the corners. Hudson did the same thing.
- Crawling everywhere. In the last week or two, you really can't take your eyes off her or she will literally be in the next room doing who knows what...and putting who knows what in her mouth. When she crawls, she does this hip hike things with her right leg. Its so cute! She is also pulling up on us, and starting to pull up on the couch. Trying in any every way possible to keep up with brother.
- She isn't really loving any toys right now because she's just too worried about being on the move. She does like things that light up and she loves to chew on my phone. We can contain her in the exersaucer for about 10-15 minutes before she demands to get out.
- Really loves to play and interact with Hudson. He does this thing where he sticks his head in her lap and pulls his hair. If she's upset, he will do it. Bless him.
- Sister has a voice on her. She will tell you real quickly if she doesn't like something. Or if you can't get food in her mouth fast enough. And she's started this high pitch squeal over everything....kind of like something is wrong, but it will be over not having anymore puffs.
- Such a sweet spirit. She has her inpatient sides, but is really go with the flow.
- Her hair is getting longer and the mohawk is in full force. I don't love putting bows in her hair, but I do on occasion.
- If I'm around and some one else is holding her, she starts grunting and whiny for me. She loves her mommy!
Lillian, we love you so much. You wake up smiling and go to bed smiling. Such a joy to be around. And you really really love your brother. It makes me happy cry watching ya'll interact and play together! If every baby was like you, we'd be the Duggar family because I'd want 19 children just like you! Thank you for loving us! And thank you Jesus for giving us such a sweet, angel baby!

Her EIGHT month photos.
(please check out her big girl feet...sister's got some sleds on her!)

Happy summer

We're having a blast this summer! The heat snuck up on us, but we've been spending lots of time outside.

Sissy had her first experience with the swing. Of course, she loved it!

She also tried mum-mums and puffs and LOVED them. We haven't found a food she doesn't love. I basically have to pry her away from the high chair after meal time. She doesn't understand why she can't have it all?

Hudson does this thing when he wants to play with Lillian. He puts his head right in her face and lets her pull his hair. Bless him!

Love this bath time picture. Lillian is about ready to get out of that baby tub. Not quite sure how that's going to work.... Hudson's pretty all over the place in there.

Lillian begs Riley to play with her daily. Look at that sweet face! (Or should I say faces)

Last week, we went to the splash pad. I promise Hudson had a great time! He was pissed I made his sit with sissy to take a picture. That is the perfect summer time place for us. I can let Hudson run around in the water without worrying too much... And also be able to watch Lillian. Too bad it's like 35-45 mins away from us.

Sweet girl was ready to be unswaddled. I've been leaving one arm out for about a week. And the last few nights both arms have been free. Big step for us. As of tonight, no more miracle blanket. She is using an Aiden sleep sack. That miracle blanket has been good to both my babies.

Swimming lessons have gotten fun for Hudson! He now talks about them regularly and asks (in his own way) when are we going back.

Love my Mohawk baby with her baby. This baby doll thing is like a whole new world to me.

During Lillian's morning nap (10-12), that's Hudson and I's special time. We usually spend it outside.... Shocker. And now that we've been potty training, this is our summer wardrobe.

Hudson's favorite thing to do is hunt for bugs. Specifically flies. I hate a fly and try to kill them at any opportunity. So we do that alot... In between sitting on the potty every 10-15 mins. Fun times!
He also loves to ride his John Deere thing. It never gets old to him.

Today, we met jess and Carson at the pool. I swear, two babies at the pool is tricky! Thankful for Jessica to hold Lillian when Hudson needed attention. She's about to see what two babies is all about. Sweet Sydney is due any day now!
Love these babies! And love that Lillian has already learned to cheese at a young age.

Tonight, she had her first experience with the bathtub ring... Yeah, the one that's 30 years old. And still going strong! She definitely likes sitting in the big tub better than her little one.

Lillian is almost 8 months old and I still feel like I'm learning how to get them both out. It takes a lot. Pool days seems to be the hardest. Especially when dangerous things like water are involved. We try to do atleast one play date a week. I swear I enjoy them as much (if not more) than the babies.

I love being at home with my babies, but sometimes I get lonely. It's nice to have sweet mommy friends that understand how I'm feeling.
I found this article the other day, and it was like I had written it myself.

Happy weekend!
