Lillian's Sprinkle

A few weeks ago, some sweet friends threw a shower for Lillian.
We joked because this being my second child, it would be called a "sprinkle" Get it?
It was the cutest idea ever!

We received so many things for our sweet girl, and I definitely left Mrs. Mala's house feeling more prepared.

Susan Harvey did the cake.
 I think I ate like 5 pieces!

The sign-in book

Me and Heather wore the same thing. Too funny!
(Lillian at 26 weeks)

Preggies, preggies everywhere!

Me and Kayla. Our girls due dates are 5 days apart.

I don't get tired of seeing her name on things. I've been dreaming of her name and having a girl for many years!

Kiki got this beautiful frame made for her room

Lillian's goodies

My family at the shower! So thankful for them and coming out to celebrate with us!

Me with the hostesses: Heather, Kelli, and Jamie.
 They did an amazing job!

Love this invitation so much!

I wish I would have gotten a picture of all my friends that came. And my mom and I.
I get caught up in all the excitement and lose focus. Ha!
But it was a great day and we are so thankful for our wonderful friends and family who are just as excited about Lillian as we are!

beach pictures

Yes, we went to the beach back in May. But I just figured out how to scan the images to my computer.
Renner Photography did some beach pictures of me and Josie when we were engaged, so I called them when the family wanted some. Look them up!
Of course, we did the all white look.
That night, Hudson was a disaster at Cobalt, but he turned out to be ok with the pictures. What can I say, the boy is used to a camera in his face.
And we did pick the windiest (is that a word) night ever!

Enjoy!

My favorite family picture.
Sweet Lillian is 20 weeks
And can I get an amen for a sweet Josie smirk?! (amen)

Trish got so many more, but they live at her house.
Happy Wednesday!

27

So today was the glucose test day. Drink that nasty juice and wait an hour. I'll find out soon if I pasted, but this is not why I am updating....
I had to get on the scale today. This has become something I dread. And I am one of those people that will shed flip flops and any extra layers of clothing necessary to not add that 0.5 oz to my weight.
I didn't like the number I saw today.
In total, I have gained 27 pounds with this pregnancy (I am currently 28 weeks and some days). And might I add that 16-17 of those lovely lbs have come in the last 8-9 weeks. Apparently, big girl's gone wild! I didn't see the 27 pound mark until well into my mid-30 weeks with Hudson. When I discussed said weight gain with my OB, she mentioned maybe I should tone it down. She said she wasn't at all concerned, but she knew how I am about having a big baby. And she mentioned some studies have shown a correlation with increased pregnancy weight gain and big ole babies.
I'm not up on my research, but apparently there is a correlation with shoving every bad thing you can find in your mouth and gaining 27 pounds in 28ish weeks. Who knew?

So I am going to somewhat limit myself. Maybe 2 slices of pizza verses 4?

Also, we are now at the part of this pregnancy when I start going every 2 weeks?!?! How did it slip up on me so fast. Sure, I've got stuff for her nursery, but it won't be set up until we kick Hudson out in a month.
Today was just one of those rude awakening days.

And I am about to post a preggie selfie. Prepare yourself. I promised myself I would document this one like I did with Hudson.

There she blows. Me and 27 extra "Lillian" pounds
Alyssa asked me to send her this picture, and when I did, She might have mentioned noticing my large "ba-dunk-a-dunk". Thanks, Syss!

Sidenote: I know I am being vain, and we are extremely thankful for a happy and healthy Lillian. But I just was not expecting to see that number today.

Hudson- 22 months

Hudson Lindley is 22 months today!
And my sweet baby boy is almost 2 years old!

He is still so fun these days and play time is getting wilder and wilder.

Some things about Hudson at 22 months:
-He has become the pickiest eater. I have to distract him with lots of Tootles.
He is even turning on his favorites-English peas, green beans, string cheese and chicken nuggets. In times of desperation, he will always eat a nutragrain bar, applesauce, yogurt, and goldfish. And of course, Scooby snacks.
- Sleeping 12 hours at night and 1.5-2 hour nap around 1:00pm.
-Because of his long body, we are wearing some 2T things now. We got his shoe sized the other day and he is between a 6-6.5. Before he starts at MMO in a few weeks, I've got to buy him his first pair of tennis shoes. Man those things are cute, but they don't go with his smocked outfits I've been hoarding purchasing.
- LOVES Mickey Mouse (tootles). Zulily had a mickey day and I went OOC on that stuff. I used to hate the fact that he loved it so much, but he does truly love it. So that's enough for me.
I'm even contemplating having a Two-tles birthday party....but make it totally cute.
Just a fun fact, I will be 36-37 weeks pregnant at his birthday party. Always fun times.
- Loves any thing outside. His new favorites are bubbles, the baby pool and his sandbox from Kiki.
He also loves to push the wagon around the block, but gives out about 3/4 the way around and climbs in for me to pull him. These days, 90+ degree temps and being pregnant fat, the outside times are getting slimmer.
- New words: ouuuut-side, buuu-bles, Pete (from Tootles), frog, duck, slide, pig, maa maa maa (cow), cars, pools. Pretty much everything has a "S" at the end.
- Still is able to understand and comprehend waaaay more than the verbal aspect. I'm hoping things will catch up when he starts MMO.
- Has no idea about baby sister. I ask him where the baby is, and he points to my stomach, my boob or my knee. He's clueless, bless his bones!
- He can tell you where his nose, ears and toe toes are (most times)
- Got probably his 10th haircut a few weeks ago.
- If he doesn't get his way, he throws a major fit. Today, I wouldn't give him my iphone and he ran up to me and pulled my hair. Yeah, he got a spanking for that.
- Yes, he knows how to play with my iphone. Including sliding it to unlock, playing music and playing with the apps. I found a website that allows you to not allow him to delete apps. This a game changer for us.
- As you can see from the pictures below, he is still obsessed with the vacuum. We call it the V-A-C (like spell it out) because if we even mention it, he freaks.
- Planning on getting him in big boy bed starting in September
- Still loves to give kisses. And when he grabs my face to kiss, it just melts my already emotional heart.
- Will be the best big brother ever to our sweet Lillian

These pictures are kinda struggling today. He wouldn't give me a smile...even with a Scooby bribe.

Friday Five (Sunday edition)

So yeah, its been awhile since I've updated the ole blog.
Sometimes I feel like no one cares about our playdates and random outings.

But today, I am going to copy my blog friend Mallory and do a Friday on Five (on Sunday).

1. I'm pregnant. Yes, I know you already knew this, but I am really pregnant. With Hudson, I didn't start to feel really pregnant until about 32-33 weeks. And here we are at 25 weeks. And I am feeling large and in charge. And exhausted from chasing around Hudson all day, every day. It has hit me fast and furious this time. But my love for pregnancy is still the same. Sweet Lillian likes to play kickboxing at night and although it is getting rough in there, it is still the sweetest feeling in the world.
I always heard with a girl you "spread" more...meaning you get wider. Well, I don't know if its the second baby thing or the "spreading" thing, but I am fat. And it doesn't help that I have an affinity for all things bad for me. Seriously, if its healthy, I.don't.want.it. Pretty much like with Hudson, I love pizza, fries, chocolate, candy, and sweet treat around. And portion control has left the building.

We are preparing for baby girl. Her bedding is ordered, and her closet is getting bigger and bigger. If its pink and girly, she's getting it. Between Kiki and myself, we are in trouble.

2. Hudson had his first real throw up and be sick all day experience. My child has most definitely been sick before. Many times. But usually, he is the type to be sick but still running around and playing. This time was much different. He'd kinda been snotty and coughy all week with random temps. But he acted pretty ok, so we continued our week with our normal routine. And probably pushed him too hard. By Saturday, that sweet boy was out for the count. He started crying when I went to get him up that morning....which is never a good sign. I gave him meds and he projectile vomited on me. So off to the after hours clinic we went. One diagnosis of sinus infection and an antibiotic later, we were leaving and he seemed to be feeling better. He slept for 2.5-3 hours and I should have known something was up. After he woke up, his daddy (that's what I call joey when I don't agree with a Hudson-related decision he makes) let him chug water. Projectile vomit #2 happened. Both times ALL of me. Motherhood at its greatest. By Sunday, he was back to his normal self. But on Saturday, we watched more Tootles than ever and he pretty much didn't leave my shoulder. Cuddle baby at its best.
I hated that he was so sick, but I do love to cuddle with my sweet angel of a boy.

3. We had our first craigslist sale last week. And now I am addicted. I am still trying to convince Joey to sell everything we own and get new things....ha! All for the thrill of the game.
We sold our guest bed and mattress set. In 2 days. What a success! I don't love looking at the stuff people put on craigslist though. Apparently my idea of "great condition" is not the same as the other craigslisters.

4. It is HOT HOT HOT outside. Pretty much all our activities these days have to involve water of some kind. I've pretty much scouted out all the splash pads in the Jackson area. It is even hard to play outside in the afternoon because it is so dern hot. I made it about 20 minutes the other day until I had to drag lure Hudson inside with Scooby snacks.

5. They have been playing Laguna beach on MTV in the mornings. We're talking old school Kristin Cavillari and Lauren Conrad (she preferred to be called LC back then). And this is just between us, but a certain Joey Lindley also loves to watch LB/The Hills. So I've been recording them, and we've had marathons at night. High school drama at its greatest!

That's it for now. Happy weekend!
