Daisypath Anniversary Years Ticker

Resolution-ish

I hate the word resolutions. To me, it means making promises that are just not kept. This year, I decided to do things alittle different. I am going to try really hard at my "promises", but not set myself up for failure.
(it's like Lent. Every year, I try to give up diet coke. And every year, I cheat. Note to self: kristin, don't give up diet coke anymore!)

So here are my goals for 2011:

1. Be more appreciative. Now this is a tricky one. I am very appreciative of my family and friends. I am always thinking to myself that I have the best husband, family, and support system around...THINKING is the key word here. I want the people around me to FEEL this appreciation. So my goal this year is to SHOW the love. lots of thinking, feeling and showing going on around here.

2. Be slow to speak. I heard someone else word it this way, and I like how it sounds. What it really means is, "hey kristin, stop saying ridiculous things that can sometimes be hurtful. If something comes into your head, wait 5 seconds before it comes out of your yapper!" My friends know I struggle with this...because, they have been victims of my word vomit. Sometimes things sound waaay better in my head than they do when they come out. What is wrong with me?

3. When I do things, always do them whole-heartedly. I think I pretty much do this all the time, but I want to extend it into 2011. And, in my world, whole-heartedly can sometimes mean over-the-top or dramatic...these are traits that I am stuck with, for they are apart of me.

4. Give up diet coke. Ha! (I kid, I kid)

Thats about it for my "goals". I hope to make these permanent aspects of myself and not just for 2011. I also have a few personal goals, too. But these are all you get for now. And really, like you even care to begin with.

That is all.

90210

90210
How do I love thee, let me count the ways...

1. It all started with those adorable twins...Brenda and Brandon Walsh
2. The fashion...need I say more?
3. Those were the days that it was still cool to have bangs...I used to rock those
4. Don't we all wish that we went to West Beverly High
5. I wish I dated Dylan Mckay in high school
6. During the summer episodes, I love the beach club.
7. The villians like Emily Valentine, Valerie, and Gina...gahhh, those girls were biddies.
8. The fact that they had unlimited money supply and drove fancy cars.
9. The Peach Pit AfterDark
10. Kelly and Donna's amazing condo on the beach
11. Aundra Zuckerman, the girl that just couldn't fit in with the cool kids
12. Kelly and Brandon almost getting married
13. Those sweet David Silver dance moves
14. Dylan and Brenda's love me-hate me relationship
15. Donna and Brenda's trip to Paris
16. Steve breaking into the school to change his grades
17. Brandon Walsh: editor of the Beverly Beat and student body president at "California University"
18. Dylan offering Kelly a trip around the world
19. Brenda leaving college for theater school in London
20. Steve falling in love with Hillary Swank's character
21. Nat, owner of the Peach Pit
22. Kelly wearing Brandon's engagement ring around her neck
23. Dylan's drug and alcohol problem
24. Steve and Brandon's newspaper business after college
25. "Now Wear This", Donna's clothing store
26. Dylan and Kelly getting together on the last episode
27. Kelly's college short haircut
28. Dylan's marriage to Antonio (and her murder on that rainy night)
29. Donna almost not getting to graduate because she got drunk at prom
30. Donna and David's wedding: where everyone came back and they wrapped the series finale into a pretty bow.

Oh how I love this show! It got me this morning with a 4 hour marathon on Soapnet. It will never get old! I know it is totally fake, but I really love to get wrapped up in this west coast, 90210 world! And I love Josie, but Dylan Mckay gives me the chills...and 15 years later, he continues to be a hottie!
What is your favorite 90210 moment?

Letter to the editor

Dear pimple on my face,

I hate you. Why are you here? You can not even be called a "blemish" or "spot," because you are a straight up ZIT! Zito with a zit. Like I haven't heard that before. Now, I thought you was suppose to go away after the age of 16. But no, here we are at age 27 and I am still dealing with the same issues. What's next? Susie is starting a rumor about me in the hallway by the lockers? And it has been this way for the last couple of months. I would get a small "blemish", nurse you back to health, and BAM, another one would come at me. So last week, I did something drastic. I ordered Proactiv. That's right, this girl is getting rid of you, pimple! And last night was my first proactiv night...and I'm going to tackle you. So next time you are thinking about coming around this face, think again. I will hit you with the refining mask, and that stuff does not play! This is not a request, but an order! Go find someone your own age to mess with.

(not) love,
kristin and proactiv

Ps, do you think they'll ask me to be a proactiv model? I could do a killer before and after shot.

recap

The Lindleys are back blogging after an almost 2 week hiatus. Not really back back though, bc I don't have my pictures uploaded from my NEW camera. That's right, P-diddy claus (santa) was very good to the Lindleys. The highlight of my presents was this bad boy from Joey...I had written in previous posts that I was not ready for a fancy-fanc camera, but I decided I would dive right in!

Here she is, Canon Rebel T1i. She is pretty, and very fanciful. I know how to put this baby in auto and shoot away. Hopefully the class I'm taking in this month will assist with my new photography adventures.

Some may ask (cough, Joey Lindley) why do you need such a big and bulky camera? Answer: because i want a child, and this child needs to be well documented.

As for New Years, there were tornados brewin in Jackson. We decided to attend a party at the Adams' house. It was fun fun! This girl was sober nancy so we could safety return our family to Madison. That way, I was able to document every one else's non-soberness. See, that camera is coming in handy already! But alas, I don't have pictures uploaded yet, so I had to steal some from Ashley Estes (and yes, she is the newest blog stalker, and yes, I did just call you out, Ashley!) I got to wear my wonderful sweater cape from
Anthropologie. And I definitely think every girl should own a sweater cape...I spent half of the night "flying" around the garage.

The fun girls
Carly, Johna, cape girl, Ashley, and Stacy

This team dominated in flippy cup.

"precautions"

And me, the cape crusader!

Thanks again Ashley for letting me use these photos (even though I really didn't ask permission). More this week with my pictures and other musings from our Christmas time and my WEEK vacation from work.
Holla!
