End of summer beach trip

At the end of September, we packed up our house and headed to Orange Beach for a much needed beach trip. We usually go with my parents in May, but for some reason they didn't want to go with baby Barnes being 8 weeks old. So I pouted about it all summer.... And we decided to take our own trip.
I already feel like an adult, you know with having to be responsible for all the babies, but now we feel extra adult-y because we paid for our own condo for the week. And I'm not talking about Motel 6 by the Sea.... Ha! This was a first for us. We decided to try out the new Phoenix West II. It was so nice! We even talked my brother and his gf, Meredith, into coming down for a few days.
Anyways, we talked the beach trip up aallll summer, so Hudson was super excited!
The mini was loaded down. We literally have ever stage of young child right now: infant, toddler, and pre-kindergartener (don't be jelly), so you can only imagine all the crap that we had to take.

We were extremely worried about the drive down. But the kids were on their best behavior and they did GREAT! We stopped once to nurse Barnes/Hudson potty and once to eat lunch.
This is how B wanted to sleep on the way down.

Once we got there, we got all the stuff in and headed straight down to the beach! The big kids were in heaven!

We also hit up the pool. We initially wanted to stay at the new PW II for the "splash pad" which ended up being basically one water hose in the ground. I actually liked the pool set up at the PW I better.

Sweet Barnes loved the water! Since 2011, I've been pregnant or bringing a young infant to the beach. And with Barnes being our last baby, it was kind of bittersweet. But he LOVED the water and kicking his chubby legs in it.

Brett and Mere got to the condo later that night. We literally spent the next 4 days with them on the beach or at the pool. Bless them, they were so patient with our children!
And if I wasn't being Barnes' pillow while on the beach, I was being the paparazzi for the kiddies.

Love this picture of my sweet kiddos

And I am OBSESSED with this one. It will be framed big in my house very soon!

Hudson's favorite things to do were looking for seashells, digging holes in the sand, and playing in the waves. Luckily, he would stay pretty close to us.

Sissy would dart off every chance she got! And she loved playing in the water! Barnes' favorite thing was to fall asleep on the beach. Every.single.time

Daddy digging holes.

This about sums it up.

But I do love this picture that Meredith got! Love my sweet family!

Straight up selfie style with Brett and Mere. Seriously could not have survived the trip without them. Our children outnumber us.

So the last two days after they left were spent trying to wrangle the babies and spend as much time on the beach as possible.

We celebrated their birthdays (which were 2 weeks later) with the nastiest cake that publix had.

Looking for crabs.
This was my favorite time to be down at the beach. The late afternoon was still warm and sunny and it was less crowded. Listening to the waves crash is just so relaxing to me!
The big kids LOVED our time at the beach! Although the night time sleep wasn't that great (I'm looking at you Barnes), all the babies did great! It gives me hope for future trips! And we will definitely be going back at the end of the summer next year!
