Dear Hudson, Me and you are like peas and carrots. I love you! Love, mommy
A few things to notice: -my child has to eat naked these days -please look at my horrid reflection in the mirror -his sole "angel curl" and his frat boy hairstyle -without puffs, we wouldn't make it through dinner
We watched the opening ceremonies on Friday night. I have to admit, it wasn't as fancy as I remembered Beijing to be. But again, it would be difficult to top that opening ceremonies. Regardless, it was a great show and a lot of hard work was put into it. My favorite parts: -parade of nations and learning the fun facts about each nation. -Sir Paul -"The Queen" jumping out of the plane -lighting of the torch
This weekend, I've been cray about these Olympics. I've gone and downloaded the app on my iPad and started reading about the players and teams! For some reason, I get emotional about these players... They are just so good and they are doing what they love! My favorites right now are gymnastics and swimming. Needless to say, the Lindleys are excited about the next 17 days!
Our weekends have changed since Hudson really started crawling and moving around.
You really can't take your eyes off him, even for a second, or he might be into something dangerous serious.
All the while, he'll look at you with those puppy eyes and melt.your.heart.
So you end up frustrated, but confused because he's so cute, and running at him like you're crazytown because he's about to get into something.
Crawled under his bouncy trying to catch a ball
The baby loves him a ball!
We went swimming with Jessica and Carson on Saturday. Oh how I love these two!
It is so wonderful to just sit and talk mommy with her.
And the boys are actually getting to the age where they will interact. Carson even gave Hudson a kiss!
Thanks BFD for the pictures
These water babies stayed in the pool for almost 2 hours, with the help of puffs, yogurt, and milk.
Don't they kinda look like old men fishing?
On Saturday morning, I walked into Hudson's room to get him up from a nap and this is what I saw....
Hudson Lindley STANDING and staring at me.
Now, he has been practicing his standing but never like this. And he just looks so happy.
That smile is my whole entire world!
I also got a quick video of him standing in his crib. I'm telling you, it just shocked me so much to see him doing that. So I grabbed every camera/recording device I could find.
And I love hearing him say his 'babababa"
On Sunday, we played dress up.
When I was pregnant and found our Hudson was a "he", my first thoughts about his clothing were "seersucker and sailorsuits". Well, his wardrobe is just that. And add smocked and appliques to that!
My mom found one of Brett's old outfits and Mr. Hudson is sporting it today.
Gotta love a good 1980's sailsuit!
Bubba (the orignial receptiant of the outfit) and Hudson
How sweet is this picture?
Kiki also pulled out some of our old things for Hudson. I am so thankful that she kept all these things. It will be so special for Hudson to have these antiques pieces.
They really don't make them like that any more (spoken is my favorite granny voice)
Our rocking horse
An antique chair Kiki found this weekend. That sailor is having a good time!
And you know we have to support the MS Highway Patrol. It's in our blood! Poppy, I know you like this one!
In other exciting news, two of my best friends recently had babies
Colton Lane Shandy
July 13th, 2012
7 lbs 10 oz
Mommy and baby. Both looking beautiful!
We are so happy for those Shandys!
Up next, we have...
Jack Porter Fair
July 16th, 2012
7 lbs 15 oz
Sloanie, me and the baby Jack Porter I was instructed that she didn't want to call him JP
That precious baby.
Sorry, I'm looking REAL rough!
Lots of sweet new baby boys for Hudson to play with.
Last weekend (or two weeks ago), The Warrens came to play.
Swee John Franklin is so cute! And he has gotten so big...these babies grow so fast!
Why the daddies talked about hunting, gun, and all other stupid manly things, the mommies and the babies got to play.
We even got to pull out the ole playmate for JF. Hudson had forgotten that thing existed!
This monkey was all over the place!
Being camera shy
The boys playing together.
Since JF hasn't mastered his sitting up yet, Hudson was willing to get on the floor and roll around with him
Yummy feet!
The mommies and babies. Two generations of BFFs!
They aren't the best pictures over...but always fun to document
Love our sweet babies!
Whenever me and Grace get together, our conversations always go to breastfeeding, bottles, waketime, sleeptime, toys, smocked clothes, and all other infant things....maybe one day, we can have some adult conversation again. But for now, we are loving our life being best friends and new mommies!
Love you Gracie and John Franklin!
And on the nursing front, I have officially stopped my morning session as of this morning. And that was my last session to drop. And as of this morning, Hudson continues to not want a bottle. Yesterday, he didn't drink anything from 10:00 am- 7:30 pm. Really? I am starting to get worried about dehydration, but Dr. Jones assured me that the baby will drink when he gets hungry. I'm not so sure about my child.
At this point, I am no longer sad about quitting nursing. I made it 10 months. He's good. But I am concerned about him not wanting a bottle or sippy.
