Lillian at SIX months

Sweet angel baby girl Lillian is SIX months old.
Half a year with this baby? How can that be? I've said it once, twice, three times...she is an angel baby. Smiling all the time. We couldn't love her more!

Things about Lillian Lindley at SIX months:
- As of a few days ago, she just dropped a feeding from 6 to 5 times a day. It was time. She got to where she wasn't nursing for long at all....that girl was just over being fed so much. We switched her to a 3 hour 45 min/4 hour schedule and it did the trick! Her schedule: 5:30 am, 8:30, 12:20-12:30ish, 4:00, 5:30 (solid), 7:45-8:00ish then bedtime.
-She eats rice cereal/oatmeal around 5:30 pm. Will probably add a feeding soon, but she seems ok with just one solid feeding right now. I'm just not rushing things these days. Baby girl is loving her rice! She's also tried mashed bananas which she seems to enjoy. I am really trying to avoid giving her Gerber pureed baby food as much as possible. I'm going to make some of it myself and I really want to skip the whole pureed food all together and go straight to the mushed up food. I know that when we're out and about, its hard. But I really want to try. We are trying avocados next.
- At doctor last week, she weighed 14 lbs 14 oz. I will get her official stats on Wednesday.
- Wearing 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. I've been buying 6-9 months for length. I can.not.wait to put her in all her summer smocked...and big brother matching stuff!
- Naps and sleep: baby girl is still not consistent really. She does consistently wake up at 5:30 am to nurse. And when she does wake, she eats....like she's starving. So I'm struggling with letting her cry it out. She always goes right back down until 8:30. I guess its working for us for the time being.
Naps are tricky too. She wakes after 30 minutes still. Like set your watch to it. But she will go back down for another hour atleast. It's just frustrating to have to run in there to put her back down. Two long naps a day and 1-2 cat naps at the end of the day.
- She has lots of new tricks. She can sit up for 1-2 minutes independently and play with toys. She has also started putting her right arm out to prevent falling over. This PT mom loves that righting reflex. She also can up on all fours for about 10-15 seconds. I really don't remember Hudson doing that this early. And I didn't teach her that...she just wants to keep up with big brother.
- Still loves to be held. And if she's not being held, she wants to be in eye distance of you....especially that mommy.
- She is such a wiggle worm these days...into everything and loves discovering new things!
- Her hair is growing on the top and even has some wave to it! It looks like it will be a beautiful dirty blonde color.
She actually has enough to put a bow in it....little hair, don't care. We are now rolling with all the bows we can :)
- LOVES Hudson Lindley! They laugh at eachother all the time. It makes my heart smile really big!
- Lillian has the sweetest personality. She really is so laid back and go with the flow. And we needed that with brotherbear Hudson :)

Here is the angel baby at six months.

Love you to the moon, Lillian!
Sometimes I want to randomly cry happy tears from all the love for you (and brother Hudson)

This week

Fun times this week! Bonnets, bows, bath time, food with friends, fishes and outside fun.
So excited for some nice, warmer weather.

Finally getting the big brother/little sister outfits on the babies. That "newborn" gown is finally fitting my five month old.

Happy Tuesday!

Spring

Spring is finally here!! Although I think Mother Nature is still slightly confused on whether she wants it hot or cold. One day it will be 80 degrees and the next 45. Blows my mind... And my wardrobe's mind.
The Lindley babies are just growing and growing. And getting cuter by the day!
This is Hudson's new fake smile

Zoo day with Kelli and her babies.

Hudson loves the zoo! And he finally understand the different animals. Last year, everything was "puppies" to him.

And sweet sissy is just as angelbaby as ever!

But apparently teething! She's been chewing on everything.

caught this sweet sight the other day. They were holding hands! No prompting for me at all! Melts my heart

We got to meet baby Zack last week! And this was the only picture I was able to get of JF and Hudson. I am so thankful that my sorority little sis ended up being one of my lifetime bffs.

He's been doing this weird this with playdoh. He makes me roll them into balls and then guards them with his life. Won't even let me touch them. "Lell-ow balls"

First bath was on Sunday. Both babies loved it.

Last week, we took out big boy on a special date to the circus!

All Hudson could talk about were the "ell-dants" Too bad they saved them for the very end. He did great though!

This sweet boy has become afraid of bees. He saw one outside and completely panicked. He held me so tight! I can't say I didn't love it.

Last weekend, we went to see our favorite Louisiana friends, the Beacoms. We miss them so much!

The best family photo we could get. Atleast all members are smiling.

Lillian's first time in the exersaucer was on Monday night. Not sure if we're ready for this. And I mean "we're" literally. She wanted out after 3 minutes.

Post nap sillies. Hudson's favorite thing is helping me wake her up from naps and in the mornings. He yells "heeeeey siiiii-sssssseeee"

Have you ever seen anything so sweet?
Please excuse my look: joeys old Tshirt and hair in pony. It's my staple these days.

Lillian at FIVE months

Lillian Lindley is now five months old!! Wow, this child is such a joy in our lives. She literally smiles all the time. And we are talking about a big, open mouth makeyouwanttoeatherup kind of smile. Its truly contagious!
If you follow me on instagram, you probably know I post way too many pictures of her. But I can't help it...I'm obsessed.
I'd also like to add that I am a bit of a milestone delayer when it comes to Lillian. With Hudson, I couldn't wait for him to sit up, start solids, crawl...I encouraged all these things early. But with her, I want her to stay my baby for as long as possible. And I am just not ready for all this big girl stuff that's going on!

Things about Lillian at FIVE months:

- Still nursing. Going strong and no end in site, as far as I'm concerned. Every 3-3.5 hours flexibly.
Still no solids, but she's ready. I am probably going to start oatmeal next week...and she will probably tear it up! I've started researching alternatives to Gerber baby food, such as baby lead weaning and making your own stuff. There is nothing in the world wrong with Gerber...its what we gave to Hudson. But he's turned into the pickiest eater, and I always wonder if that had something to do with it. Any suggestions on BLW or which baby food maker/recipes are the best?!?  I'm just not ready for all this big girl stuff!
- Night sleep has gotten better, but still inconsistent. She's in her bed by 8:30, and the last few days, it's been closer to 8. We have started letting her fuss it out, and it has really helped. She is learning to calm herself down. Some nights, she will go until 5:45 without a peep, and some she will start fussing at 3:30. We have just learned to let her do her thing. She will go back to sleep. But she will still nurse bt 5-6 am. That is still going strong. She'll nurse for 10-12 minutes then right back down for 3 hours. I really don't mind it that much...but don't love to pump at 5 am!
- Nap sleep is a different story. She takes two long naps a day 10am and 1pm, and a catnap around 5pm. But 30 minutes into each nap, she wakes. You can set your freakin clock to it. So frustrating. So she then has to fuss to get tired again. I swear I don't truly get to enjoy my quiet time or get anything done bc I'm just waiting for her to wake up.
- Wearing 3-6 months and 6 months clothes. She needs the 6 month stuff for length. Still my long and lean girl! Finishing up my last few size ones, and moving to the twos!
- She's teething, I think, because everything goes straight to her mouth these days! Loves her sophie and plastic chains.
- Found her toe toes! Loves to grab at them.
- Rolling, rolling everywhere. Much more skilled with back to tummy, but can do tummy to back as well. She actually doesn't mind tummy time as long as she had a mirror or a toy to look at. Loves her playmat and musical rolling snail.
- Doesn't love sitting in the bumbo. Not quite sure how we're going to eat solids without that thing at first. Still likes the swing for quiet time and bouncy seat with a toy.
- Watches big brother like a hawk. She loves him so much already!!
- Loves to be held. But is getting better at independent play for short periods of time.

Please look at this angel baby!

Daddy put me in the exersaucer for the first time today. Again, I am not ready!

This baby girl holds my heart!
