Success!

Update on the sewing front...

Ladies and gents, we have a burp cloth!

And not just a burp cloth, one that is sewn with semi-straight seams.
Get it, get it!

Also learned 2 more things today:
-how to change my needle to the machine after it breaks...TWICE
-how to re-thread the machine

I must admit, this was alot easier than making that bag. I think I will try again tom.
And no, this one is not for Hudson. I am aware that this is girl fabric. And Hudson is partial to blue.

Have a great weekend!

hobby lobby, part deux

Sewing class.

Last night, four brave girls started on a journey...a sewing journey.
We knew nothing about our machines.
What is a bobbin, and how do we thread this bobbin?
A true rags to riches story. We came with scrapes of fabric and left with a grocery bag.

The beginning of the process.

The end result. We are proud, and we I am swollen.
Liz and I.

And the star pupil of the evening...Wendy Creel, master sewer.
Her bag looked as good as the teacher's.

Speaking of teacher, I think we annoyed her all night with our non-abilities.
And the class ran an hour over...oops!

So, moral of the story is first sewing experience was partially successful! And fun!
My main purpose with this whole thing is to make burp cloths. Cute ones! So I will be practicing my techniques this weekend!

weekend fun

Lane and Lacey had their Mccomb couples shower a few weekends ago...
It was a lot of fun!

The sweet and fun couple!

Ok, lets talk about this cake. In my opinion, the best tasting cake (other than my wedding cake). I mean, I had 4 pieces. FOUR!  I know i'm preggie, but come on, Hudson...4 pieces of cake? Back to the real reason we are talking about this cake. It's real good, but REALLY ugly. Like you-ain't-got-no-aliby ugly! They couldn't throw in a ruffle or some pizzaz? And the next real shocker...it's from Sams. You heard it, Sams!
So next time you want a really good, really reasonably priced, really ugly cake...try them!

Opening all their fabulous loot!

My sweet Josie and me.

All the pretty girls.
Kristin, Johna, Lacey, Tara, Carly
I spy TWO preggies, name them!
(me at 23 weeks and 5 days)

And the boy hosts with the groom. These boys! Whenever they get together, trouble comes. Sometimes fun trouble, and sometimes it can get rowdy.

And they can't take a normal picture to save their lives.

Tara and sweet Adda Laine. I love this child. And we share a birthday weekend. We are forever bonded.

Joey and his Mom, Ms. Gail.
Soon to be, Nanna, to baby Hudson.

It was a really fun weekend! We can't wait for their wedding on August 6th.

sweet child of mine

I love his name!
Hudson Lindley

I got these blocks made for him...I.could.die... they are so sweet!
Let me know if you are interested in some for your sweet, little one. They are super reasonably priced and hand made with love!

Have a great 4th weekend!
Josie is heading to the beach for a bachelor trip. Hudson and I will be holding down the Lindley fort.

little lovies

My nieces, nephews and cousins are so cute...I just have to show them off!

Our sweet boy cousins: Hunter, Tristan, Riley

Updated picture of Hunter. He looks like an adult in this picture.

Girl cousins: Mckenzie and Ann Maris
Obviously, they like Ole Miss...(insert sarcasm)

Our nieces: Alexis, Alayna and Meghan

Them playing "Just dance". Too fun! And they are really good at it.
Last weekend, Meghan beat Joey Lindley at Wii baseball...it was quite a site to see!

Our nephew, Reeves. He is so cute. He just had  to wear my sunglasses on Sunday.
He is the only small Lindley boy at this time, and I can't help but think this is what Hudson might look like at 2 years old.

This is Reeves as a baby. Look at this picture!!
I have it framed in our house. He looks like a tree frog.

Just wanted to enlighten you day with these little lovies. Even though they are not so little anymore.
Hudson will have lots of playmates when he comes in October.
